Fancy trying some Eastern European bakes? Then this Romanian bakery has got you covered.
The menu changes regularly, but the staple items are their namesake; the pretzels & both poppy seed and cinnamon were deliciously doughy, but the cinnamon sugar put that one in the lead for us. They're huge too so great value for money at £1.50. The cherry strudel and salted cheese pie both had a nice filling. We'd recommend warming up in the air fryer if you're not eating them fresh from the bakery.
We'd never tried a pretzel dog before - a hot dog wrapped in pretzel dough - but we would definitely have one again. The dog inside was quite salty, so it would be great dipped in a sweetish sauce.
Located at the Aldi end of Bearwood High St, it could be easy to miss. We parked in Aldi, but we're told it's ok to park around the side of the shop. They're also available on Just Eat.
Dcemeber update: Been shopping at Twisty Pretzel for 6 months now and just collected delicious sweet bread and pastries for xmas. Love this shop. Great quality produce and lovely staff.
June: Had some pretzel-dogs and pretzels from this new shop in Bearwood. Delicious! And friendly service too. Really hope they do well as they're a great new addition to Bearwood's food offer
I've ordered yesterday for the first time and they were so fresh and some of the products were still warm and incredibly tasty. I also have to mention that the costumer service did not disappoint me at all, helpful, patient and polite, definitely recommend!
Really really delicious! The pastries were fresh every time we went there. There is a wide variety of savoury and sweet baked goods. The pretzel dog and ham and cheese pockets are my favourite, with the sweet cheese / apricot pastries following closely behind. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. Would highly recommend!
Recently moved into the area and upon seeing Twisty Pretzel I knew it was somewhere I’d have to try once I had the chance.
Got around to it yesterday for a fresh pretzel with a cheese and spinach pie and boy did they not disappoint!
Will 100% be making this a regular venture, looking forward to trying the variety of baked goods on offer!
I love this place! Everything is freshly made and delicious ????. I really recommend the calzone, sour cherry pastries and of course, those salty pretzels.
The lady who runs the shop is really friendly and kind too!
I had a large order from them tonight(Fornetti) with Telemea, Visine, caise and chocolate. Also 2x covridog All was absolutely delicious apart from the chocolate one. The chocolate fornetti was a bit not that successful, the chocolate was burnt inside, but the rest of the thinks it was 10/10

A much-needed fresh bakery in Bearwood. Lovely, basic pretzels, some interesting filled ones (the smoked cheese one is my current favourite) and other assorted pastries. Staff are friendly and helpful.
