When I tell you this food is good this food is good. I had the Sunday dinner with stuffed turkey, legs and it was worth every dollar. I will be back. Customer service was great.
If you do go, just an FYI it’s cashless.
Everything is delicious! The burger is thick and a welcome change from most restaurants charging a ton for thin and wimpy hamburgers. The jerk chicken wrap is saucy and flavorful. The Philly is always a safe and savory call. Plus, the sandwiches come with fries drenched in a delectable mild sauce. Add the great mission behind the restaurant and it’s a perfect 10
I walked passed many times and finally got to try this place. We got a grandma turkey sandwich and a Texas turkey sandwich. They were excellent. The turkey patty was HUGE. Staff was friendly. Love a restaurant that is mission-driven. Will definitely be back. Heads up they only take card, no cash.
The food was fresh, and I gave it an 8 . I didn't get my drink I paid for even though that was my fault. The server should give you your drink while you wait on your food.. 2 chairs to sit at while you wait. Actually I feel their should be 2 tables with chairs so people can sit and eat there
Sunday Dinner, mid-week from Turkey Chop. It has a succinct menu with items packed with flavour that are both comforting and filling.
The meal is comprised of large turkey leg ????, collared greens, mac & cheese, yams, topped with smoked corn bread dressing and smothered in a knockout gravy.
The turkey alone is outstanding; it falls off the bone. All of the sides are delicious. I would say my favourite is a tie between the greens and the mac.
Jai alone deserves a 5 star rating! Super helpful and informative! Great vibes and energy! Let's get to the food...it is expensive; but the sides were amazing! Very plentiful and flavourful. Now...the dressing...no! Not at all! Mhhhmm mmmh! Very mushy and weird tasting...but the meat, yes! Is it worth trying?! Overall, I would say yes! Street parking only... minimum wait times.
We drove over an hour to try this place. I was super excited when I watched the Black Foodies. The portion was HUGE and customer service was spot on. My husband and I both got the Sunday dinner stuffed turkey leg. The turkey leg (to me) tasted like a smoked turkey leg purchased at a grocery store and boiled. The macaroni was cheesy but had no flavor. The greens were lacking flavor and had way too many stems. The dressing was a little dry (even with the gravy). The sweet potatoes were the star of the meal. They were AMAZING! The food portion that you get is WELL worth the price but I could only give 2 stars because it was definitely lacking seasoning. I also tried the strawberry lemonade. It was warm with a few ice cubes????. I may gave gone on an off day, so I will definitely try them again. I love supporting black businesses and we all have our bad days.
My loving husband introduced me to this spot, and I’ve tried the soul food plates when the first time it was worth it. It came with a juicy fresh turkey leg, dressing, baked Mac and cheese, greens, and yams. Since I been going back to get the same Sunday dinner it’s no longer the same. The bag leaked with watery juice I guess that should been the gravy for the dressing. I was given smoked Turkey leg this time, the Mac and cheese was just thrown on the plate and not cooked like homemade anymore. Then this time I purchased two turkey burgers on buns with home made fries which the fries were spot on but as I was leaving the lady behind the counter commented on everyone that came in as a client that she hoped that they lost their keys to either their home or business. She should be terminated because she’s bad for business this place is a nice place to go for different dishes but her customer service won’t have us returning until she’s gone. I don’t know what happened to the nice black lady that always welcomes customers with a smile that was in there at first. She was the reason I went in there to talk with her. I enjoyed her customer service skills. The food was better than when she was there too.
