Good food and good service. The complimentary soup was great! And so was the Thai Tea. We got the Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad Thai Tofu and Spicy Basil Fried Rice and it was all good. Worth a repeat visit. Getting to the parking lot can be tricky if it's your first time here.
I ordered pad Thai and spring rolls, which were both on a BOGO deal though Uber Eats. When the food arrived, it looked as though they split an order of pad Thai into two smaller portions. I dismissed it and went to open the spring rolls to find them on a bed of near rotten lettuce and other greens. As I dug into the pad Thai, I quickly started to think they just threw this food together using the lowest quality food they could find, likely due to the fact that it was a BOGO deal. Every single vegetable had some sort of brown color on it and even the noodles were extremely soggy and overcooked. My food arrived 10 minutes after pick up, which isn’t enough time for things to go this bad.
This place is a warm welcoming environment. The ambiance is stellar. I can't say enough about the food. Everytime I'm there I have a wonderful experience and delicious food.
I literally love this place it is the best Thai I have tried so far in Gainesville. I ordered the Pad Thai with the highest spice level and it was amazingly good, though not as spicy as I expected. Went for the lunch special and the portion size was okay it could have been more but I was still filled because I got sushi as well. My friend got fried rice it was her first time trying Thai and now she is obsessed. Their crab rangoons and drunken noodles are also really good. Also has a great vibe and service was great
The food here is yummy we recommend them to all of our guest at Depot Village, their food is very fresh and full of flavors! You will not be disappointed we promise!
We heard good things, so we came for dinner, but it was a bit of a disappointment. Siam chicken and green papaya salad were ok. They definitely do not make their curry pastes in house and just use what comes from the can, resulting in a curry that just doesn't have the same deep flavor profile as If It Is curries. Also, while food came out fast, we waited 15-20min for our check. Prices are a bit high for what it is.
Nice place in University Avenue, with parking in the rear. The atmosphere is really nice and there are a few outside tables fronting the avenue.
Service is excellent, really polite as well.
Chicken Satay is a great appetizer - they really got great flavor in the sauce.
The sushi is pretty good but they use krab instead of crab and the propensity of offerings seem to include cream cheese and eel sauce, to the point I just went with a krab roll, instead of any 'real' sushi. My Daughter had the Manhattan roll and, while that wouldn't be my normal choice, I tried a piece and it was actually really good. Price range on sushi is about 5.00 to 30.00 per roll.
For Entrees the selection is Huge. For a lot of the stuff you pick the dish, then you select the meat, or combination of meats... ranging from chicken to duck (which meat affects the price). We had Garlic and Pepper mixed meats and it was excellent - sauce it was cooked in was close to perfection.
We also had a ginger salad that I am sorry to say I would not recommend.
Soda is by the can, not fountain if that makes a difference to anyone.
Pricing, overall, isn't bad. I think we spent close to 53.00 for a very large 2 person lunch. That was appetizer, an entree, a soda, a salad and several sushi rolls. The portions were pretty good and I was happy with the price considering what we got.
Overall we really enjoyed it and will be back at some point.
We waited over an hour for food (6:15 to 7:15pm on a Wednesday) when there were only 10 other people in the entire restaurant. (Everyone seemed to have to wait a long time, not just us.) Food was pretty good but we would've liked more food for the price, especially after the wait. We weren't very impressed with the service, either. Maybe this place is best for takeout only... We won't be back.
