Best KPortal Reviews
The food has been really good. It has a nice taste. I liked this place. Service was a little bit too slow and could be improved in general. But I would come again if I’m in Santa Monica, CA, again!
They didn’t tell us that they didn’t have dosas, only found out when we ordered. We ordered our mains, we were a party of 3, 2 of our food arrived and 20 minutes later one of our parties food still had not arrived, they weren’t even bothered about it. All the side dishes were cold and the last person had to eat their food with cold rice. The waiters were not even bothered about it. We won’t be back. The butter chicken was nice, probably the only highlight of the food.
Delicious, fun environment, great service, and near the pier, great place!
We wandered in unexpectedly for dinner on a Saturday night and it was a delightful experience! Confused by the number of poor reviews and frankly a lot of them seem unjustified. We were greeted & seated promptly, single waiter was clearly stretched thin but he was very nice & apologetic about the wait (which was not even long). Ordered tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and salmon kebab—all were delicious & cooked perfectly but butter chicken was a real highlight. Very reasonably priced; 3 people with an app, entrees, sides, and beers for all came out to $97.
Great service and friendly. Went on a weekday for dinner, was mostly empty. Very near to Santa Monica pier and Third street promenade if you can just take a stroll. Dropped one star just for the taste, although presentation was good, pictures attached. You can park at Santa Monica Place mall, first 90 min free.
I discovered this place in the Michelin guide and thought I would try this Indian that wasn’t run of the mill. Wow ! It’s been a couple years since my tastebuds exploded with so much joy for Indian food. Flavors are strong but are not overpowering, every dish could stand on its own and complemented each other. Even the dessert had that creative audacity that closed the diner on a high note…
Hands-down the best Indian food in LA for me!
Appetizers: Panipuris were crisp, fresh and the pani was just the right amount of tangy!
The wada pav was soft, crunchy and the idle fries are a stroke of genius.
The avocado bhelpuri are pretty dope! Never knew avocados would go that well with that spice palette.
Main course:
The butter chicken is so good and so rich! We ordered it twice!
The laccha parattha and the garlic naan compliment the dishes really well!
Dessert:
Kulfi: they have malai, pistachio and mango flavors! So smooth, so rich and a good portion size
The deconstructed carrot halwa: probably haven’t had dessert that good in a while. They serve it with ice cream and granola which gels so well with the halwa!
10/10- would come again ????
A must place to visit whenever we are in downtown Santa Monica. The cheese dosa was good, although my husband expected it to have paneer (as it said on the menu) but he still liked it. I love palak paneer and glad that there was a side dish of it. It tasted really good, fresh and not super creamy.
