Best KPortal Reviews

Ate here for dinner, and had the fish & clam combination. The food was very delicious-the clams and fish weren't overly breaded, and the fries were crispy on the outside while being fluffy inside.
The best part was the service. The owner, Johnny, was very friendly and gracious. He told us a bit about himself and his family, as well as his restaurant. He is certainly one of the kindest people I've had the honor of meeting.
Overall this restaurant is a good place if you're looking for fish and chips, or just seafood in general. Would recommend the hush puppies.
Gramps fries a mean fish.
Swung by for lunch. Batter was puffy and crisp, fish wasn't overcooked or fishy, shrimp weren't rubber, and Jonny/staff were cool dudes.
Fresh potatoes would be nice, but the chips were serviceable filler.
The menu has a few unique non-seafood items in case you have a friend/partner/kid in tow that doesn't do seafood.
Update:
Been back a few times, fries have been upgraded from the crinkle cut in the pic and are much better now, ask for them crispy.
Fried zucchini is good, mozzarella sticks are good, hush puppies are very good, though expensive.
This place is terrific. Great fish and chips! The owner was a really amazing guy. His name is Johnny "tug boat". If you're looking for a low key place with some great fried food, this is it.
The only reason I gave it 4 Stars, is because the onion rings were too crunchy and kind of thin. We had the 8 shrimp and the vegetable mix. They were delightful.
They have the best fresh fish, shrimp, scallops, calamari with chips, and yummy clam chowder with tons of clams! Cocktail and Tartar sauce were excellent for fried fish, too. They have friendly and caring staff that come around and check in with you.
Just plain unflavored batter - light enough & crispy but too blonde. Portion was acceptable. Fish not too fishy & still flakey inside. 2nd piece the batter was wet inside.
Fries taste like they came out of an cardboard box.
Whatever they’re refilling these ancient repurposed and sticky dusty Heinz bottles it’s bland - you can drown fries or fish and not know it’s there.
Tartar sauce distressingly room temp and oddly a cream like mayo. The off brand ketchup packets are sweet bc they’re full of high fructose corn syrup.
Restaurant smells of fry, but also old folks home and antiques faire.
The owner/operator/fry cook
- “Charlie” is friendly, but clearly a shoestring staff of One. For 25 years. Struggling to keep up but served hot to order
“Napkins” are strips of paper towel shoved into napkin holder
Prices are not accurate and may even be arbitrary.
Called ahead for takeout, and food was ready in under 15 minutes on a Friday afternoon. Large fillets, generous amount of fries, plenty of delicious tartar sauce. We also enjoyed the lumpia. We ate it hot right in our car in the parking lot, rather than let it cool down driving home. Glad we tried the food here!
Excellent quality fish n chips. Not greasy. Delicious...will come again
