Back in Fresno; meaning: back to trying a new Ramen shop. This place was the nearest to me after an earlier errand, so I decided to give it a shot. The ambiance was casual and typical for a Japanese establishment. I happened to be the only patron at the time so there wasn't much of a wait time, considering there was only one server. The prices seemed to be a little much for a smaller establishment, but I wasn't too picky at the time. I got a "Make your own Ramen" option with a side of Gyoza and was given chopsticks for both; needless to say, I asked for a fork. The food was good but average and some of the toppings had a different look than how it was advertised, but still good regardless. It was about halfway through my meal when more patrons started to show up, but my server was still attentive to me when needed. The problem came when I had to pay: I was charged an extra fee for using a credit card even though it was authorized as a DEBIT. When asked to change it, the server refused and when I tried to ask for a copy of the receipt, he took forever to come around again and when he did, he didn't seem to understand what I was asking. He finally did, but ended up giving me the original receipt without the charges. Again I asked for my charged receipt, but he seemed to ignore me and attended to the other patrons, which was starting to get slightly more busy. Overall this place is a definite 3/5, mostly due to the end service.
We brought our friends from Hawaii to try the ramen. We also ordered the karaage chicken, which was delicious, too.
We'll be back! ????
The food was delicious and came out very quickly. We ordered build your own ramens and a chicken katsu rice bowl. The server was very attentive and accommodating. My 3 yr old played musical chairs in the super roomy booth the whole time we were there, and all we got were smiles. I'll definitely go again when in the area.
Just found this place today… what a jewel! SUPER great service, extraordinarily flavorful ramen (satisfying textures, too), and conveniently located! I’ll be returning. :-)
I came here after hearing about a promotion that happened during the weekend. When you first walk on its very cute and plenty of seating. One area seems quieter and more relaxed and the other near the bar type seating is brighter and a tad louder.
I got the custom ramen with hakata noodles, tonkotsu broth with the chasu pork and some other toppings. The noodles were cooked just right and the broth was so savory and delicious. The pork was tender and the kimchi was a good tang to the dish. Super happy with the service our waiter always made sure we had water and drinks. Overall great experience and I can't wait to come back. This might be my new go to spot
So excited to have found this gem of an authentic ramen place offering up the traditional ramen taste, ambiance and menu. The spot is tiny, can occasionally get crowded but the service is fast. They have a quick and easy ordering process with an easy to follow menu. You choose from 3 different broth flavors, 3 different noodles and an arroy of addons. The shrimpballs were fantastic, great flavor and texture. I opted for the curry miso with shrimpballs, mushrooms , eggs and garlic oil. The broth came out nice and hot. The kimchi as an appetizer was amazing, I actually recommend adding it to your broth for that extra kick. Overall great taste & reasonable prices & great service.
I found this place to be ok. I tried the ramen, eel bento box, green onion pancake, and the chicken cutlet curry. Overall, I've had better experiences with the ramen and the curry at other local places. For reference, I prefer the ramen at ramen hayashi and the chicken cutlet curry at Tamari Robatayaki. It wasn't bad here, but it wasn't better than the other locations I've been to and overall I'd say it was alright. There was plenty of parking, the service was good, and the atmosphere was alright.
This place is small and has a few very unique items on the menu. The ramen (of which there is only one base, hakata-tonkotsu) I had was very good and I liked being able to customize the noddle firmness, the saltiness and oil for the bowl. Some of the more unique topping items you can get are fried fish skins as well as dried shrimp (which were not available at the time of my meal unfortunately). I liked the flavorful broth. Its exciting to hear that this place will soon be getting other different types of noodles. I'd for sure need to come back once this happens.
