First time visit. We got there close to closing time so our food was not hot. It was still good, and I'm sure it would be great fresh and hot. Great little secret hidden out on Hwy 9. Very fair prices. Too much food to eat. We will definitely be stopping by again soon.
Ok! This is not the beginning of my rating... Awesome or perfect is the lead into this introduction! The hospitality is superb ✔️ and to go further,, the appetizers follows the tone! To make this short and sweet... whenever you're on highway 9 and hungry. Pull over and make your soul smile. I promise you, you will thank yourself for the investment! Truman's is most definitely a great place to eat ????
Truman’s is one of a kind! When an old man in town tells you about a true “fish camp” out in the middle of nowhere….you go. You know you’re in for a treat when you spot the rusted old sign in front of the building……walk in and get greeted by folks wearing aprons wiping corn meal off her hands. The staff was absolutely awesome!! So friendly! Made you feel like you were in their own home having dinner. And the catfish…OMG. Sooooo good!!! The hush puppies were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot! The cole slaw was delicious! It’s been decades since I’ve experienced a true old school fish camp. I’m so happy to find they still exist!
You go for the food not a fancy atmosphere. Very friendly people and FANTASTIC food!! Definitely get the onion rings ????
Always a pleasure, never disappoint! This little restaurant is wonderful! Big portions so you never leave hungry and the service is second to none! Perfect place for dinner on a Friday night!
First time ever coming here. In fact, didn't know it existed until someone told us about it. One word: AMAZING!! I had the Cajun shrimp, and my husband had the whole catfish. All of it was delicious!! As we were leaving, they gave us a bowl with fried crab claws and oysters to try since it was our first time here. Equally delicious! Plus, the people are super nice and friendly! Definitely will be going back!!
It’s been over 12 years since the first time eating here… I remember why now. Ten tables full of people there when we got there waiting on food. We waited 45 minutes after ordering before we were served. Old and cold French fries, fish over cooked, hush puppies were the only thing worth eating. Would not recommend
Truman's never fails to serve delicious food. This is one of my favorite places to eat!
