Best KPortal Reviews
The location of the place is great, the restaurant is small though. It is a family owned restaurant run by an amazing couple that we got a chance to meet.
The best about this restaurant is the owners, you’re sure to have a good time.
The food was good.. worth the money and authentic thai food.
We ate.. egg rolls, red curry, garden vegetables tofu, drunken noodles & garlic and pepper chicken..
The best was egg rolls & drunken noodles!
The food was delicious and the owner was wonderful. The carvings in the tables were beautiful. After a day at the beach we were so happy to find this place! Definitely splurge and get the appetizer sampler!
We've had a tough time finding good Asian food since moving from Tampa, but this place is absolutely a keeper. My wife has been craving pad Thai since the last unsuccessful attempt and Tropical Thai did not disappoint. The pad Thai was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, amazing flavor.
I had the fancy duck which was also excellent. The duck was moist while the skin was crispy and everything was very flavorful.
The owner was very personable and attentive and we didn't wait for anything. It's no wonder this place has been in business 27+ years!
If you want really good, authentic Thai food go to Tropical Thai!
I am vegan and I love Thai food but wasn’t too impressed with taste of the dishes.
My partner and I ordered COCONUT SOUP with vegetables, PANANG CURRY and MUSAMAN CURRY, RAD-NAR NOODLES. I asked for everything to be moderate spicy.
I didn’t like coconut soup as much as usually from other Thai places. Also, the PANANG curry and noodles were super spicy, definitely more than moderate to my taste. Also, the noodle portion was relatively small with not much noodles on the plate, mostly veggies.
On the upside, the servant lady was great, polite and accommodating.
I wouldn’t come back to this place, but it definitely not the worse I visited.
Went in for Thai food, left with nostalgia and a desire to order 3 more plates of pad Thai. I grew up in Thailand, spending 17 years of my adolescent life there, so believe me when I say this pad Thai was *authentic*. Served by an adorable old Thai lady who is happy to tell you how her kids are doing, the pad Thai here was phenomenal. I got the sea food option but I would go for any protein really. Whole-in-the-wall sort of place without and fancy stuff; but that’s when you knows the food will be good ????
Hope this review gets you there and fulfills your dreams. Also had ice cream after to finish off the evening ????????
Was recommended by my Airbnb host and hence tried. Ordered yellow curry and rice (vegan). Food was good. Served quick. Service requests were attended quick. Place was clean and nice, but not extravagant or modern though. Portion size was on the smaller side, especially given the price. I ordered extra cup of rice. I was very hungry and ate it all. Before tip, the check was $20.50 (slightly on the higher side).
I was visiting my friends in Sarasota and they took me here for lunch so I could get some Asian flavors. Small restaurant. The atmosphere is somewhat cozy. We ordered a few dishes like soft shell crabs, duck salad was excellent, the meat was not dry and the crunchiness of the skin made it good. We all so got seafood pad Thai and was very flavorful. And some shushi. Definitely recommending to come try and see for your self. They close?afound 3-4
The prices on line DO NOT reflect the price in the restaurant. My husband and I just went to check it out and we ordered 1 sampler to share and an iced tea and a diet coke. To our surprise our bill was $32.00. We were disappointed and felt lied to. We are retired and live on a fixed income but enjoy going out and trying different things. We will not be going back to Tropical Thai again!
