My husband is a truck driver so we had Jamaican food in many different places. This place not only has the best food but, excellent customer service! We ordered the oxtails, stew beef, and a patty (spicy). So much flavor and the lunch portion was the perfect size. Will not disappoint!
New to the area. Needed to find a Jamaican restaurant. They cook good! And the staff didn’t have an attitude like most Jamaican restaurants. They were friendly, food is good and I highly recommend. I had oxtail, shrimp party and my spouse had the jerk wings.
The absolute worst experience in the 8yrs I've been looking for good spots for food in the Tampa area.
Ordered the brown stew chicken (large) & 2 chicken patties.
The chicken is actually the size of nuggets,and extremely tough & chewy(How?!! It's chicken literally in gravy)
Veggies are bland,not even salt.
Wouldn't recommend or try this restaurant again!
If I had to choose between this place & starving to death,well,I ask that you speak highly of me at my wake!

I’ve been here a total of three times the first time my husband and I had dinner takeout oxtails, jerk, chicken We enjoyed it. The second time my husband and I ate there. It made both of us feel sick. Stomach cramping and on the toilet, this last time I went from myself I purchased oxtails mac & cheese, white rice with gravy, and I only ate half of it a small plate. I woke up cramps, feeling nauseous going to the bathroom. I will not be going there again I am done with it. The customer service is horrible. Every time I go in there I speak. The lady behind the counter says nothing that was reason and itself for me not to return there but I did because it’s in my neighborhood and it was convenient. A smile and a hello how can I help you is free.
My husband is a truck driver so we have had Jamaican food from many places. This place is faaaar the best place we've ever had!!! We ordered the ox tails, stewed beef, and spicy Jamaican patty. All full of flavor, meat super tender, and the patty flacky with the right amount of heat. They have excellent customer service as well. Love, love, love this place!! Will not disappoint!
Had the lunch special my first time there. It wasn’t the curry chicken or the jerk pork, it was the other. It was so good! Second time I had oxtail! Also got a natural juice that was Irish moss and linseed, which was pretty good and filling. If you’re lactose-intolerant, it’s especially good (I’m not, but it’s made with almond milk). So good!
Love this place.
Kinda wish the food was cheaper, though. Highly recommend the lunch special (ends at 2pm) for that reason.
Also, important note: it moved across the street next to the USPS post office.
Tropical rhythm is a vibe. If you love good tasting food, Jamaican style, I would definitely recommend. I go at least twice a week for the same vegetable patty, soursop juice, and small lunch with rice and pea, cabbage and plantain. The staff is always welcoming:)
I really enjoyed this place. The Jerk chicken is outstanding. Their Island Rythm jerk sauce is some if the best I've tried. Very Spicy and flavorful but not burn a hole in the roof of your mouth hot. The rice and peas are cooked perfectly and when you add some if the curry chicken sauce, it really transcends into another flavor signature dish. Friendly staff and a clean restaurant make it an inviting eatery. I would definitely come back here.
