Just a quick stop for coffee and some scrambled eggs and cheese. Lovely service and nice food

Popped in for a quick bite and a cuppa, justbwhatbI needed, Bacon and egg bap. Good price, service was great too.

The timings on here state that they are open until 3pm - but they aren’t if you want hot food. We arrived at just after 2.15pm, to be told they were cleaning up and the kitchen had closed. We asked what time they stop serving hot food, but couldn’t get a straight answer. This is a shame, surely they are losing business? We did have a coffee and some biscuits, but although the girl in the cafe was friendly, we felt that they were trying to get rid of us. (The Chef was hiding in the kitchen.) When we asked about sandwiches, it was a reluctantly offered option. It seemed to be more about getting ready to go home, than serving customers.
Do they only want customers in the morning?
We left to go to one of our tried and trusted eateries, where the times can be relied on. Doubt if we would come back, due to this experience. The people we know in Old Leake wanted to know how we got on, so unfortunately we can’t give a good report.
They should alter the times on here, so people can make an informed decision about whether they want to visit, based on when hot food is available.
Stopped had 2 Sunday lunches and deserts for £20 good value the vegetables were over cooked for my liking but fine for the wife. Also the young ladies serving were very pleasant.
Always go for the large breakfast, lovely atmosphere & friendly staff
Love this place! Staff are always warm and welcoming, always greet you with a smile when you walk in. The food is always delicious and filling, which always makes us come back time after time. Lovely cook and great food options. The coleslaw is amazing! Would recommend to anyone who likes good quality breakfasts and dinners ???? a great desert menu too, with plenty of options. Thank you travellers rest for the beautiful service and good chats we have, truly is a wonderful cafe.
Poor quality products, asked for no black pudding not offered anything extra, bone in sasauge, for £8.50 I would rather drive into town.
Staff was pleasant though
