Great little pub situated in a lovely spot just a few minutes walk from the campsite. Ordering at the bar was quick and easy, although I found the staff especially the older gentleman a little bit grumpy! (I guess nobody really wants to work on a Saturday night..)
Food was a good side portion and tasted great.
I imagine it will be difficult to get a seat in the summer so arrive early!!
Went for tea after a long day walking, Scampi was amazing, chips were great. I love the box of condiments, really great idea! Very warm on an evening and the atmosphere was so wonderful, it felt like I knew everyone there even though I'd never seen them before. Highly recommend the fudge cake.
Overall a nice stop for a pint, with a good beer garden. Although the Guinness pour was a little under par.
Very nice burger after a long day hiking. I like the little box of condiments they provide with your order. Burger was a good size and tasted good. It's all a bit pricy but that's usually the case with places out here. Portion size was good.
After a long day of trekking, this place lived up to its name! It was quite crowded around the main building and we did not have a reservation. The good news is that there is seating outside and we could get in the section partially closed to the wind. I love this place, but they needed to turn those heaters on today. ????
I recommend looking at the menu before heading to the bar. You can order your drinks and food at the same time, as long as you can tell them generally where you are sitting. “Outside” was enough for our location. They found us.
It’s well made pub food and really hits the spot. The local cider and lager were great accompaniments. We will certainly be back every time we are in Glenridding.
Perfect stop after a walk in the lakes. Nice range of drinks and the perfect pub grub choice of food. Burger was spot on with plenty of chips. The 'generous' prawn cocktail was very generous as well! Thanks for a lovely finish to our walk :)
