Amazing what has been done in Dogwood Canyon since it all flooded out several years ago. Along with some dear friends, enjoyed a delicious lunch on the terrace overlooking the beautiful waterfall that cascades into a large pool containing hungry rainbow trout. Afterwards, we took a 2 hour tram tour guided by the Dogwood Canyon historian and expert, RICK, who was very personable, knowledgeable, and engaging. Was remarkable getting to see the south end of the park where there are magnificent specimens of long horn cattle and herds of bison and elk. There is even a small pool of rarely seen golden trout and an extremely rare white bison.
We had a tour guide named Joe who went above and beyond to make our experience the best. Beautiful sites. Wonderful narration. Loved it and highly recommend.
The tram tour was so informative and fun. The tour guide was Joe, he was very entertaining. It is absolutely a wonderful place with lots of beautiful waterfalls and wildlife.
My husband and I and two friends visited Dogwood Canyon on Sept. 4th. We took the tram and Joe was our guide. Joe was awesome and incredibly knowledgeable! Dogwood Canyon was absolutely beautiful. What a gem!
Loved our guided tram tour yesterday at Dogwood Canyon! Ron was our guide and was very knowledgeable! The falls, streams, rivers and early spring trees were beautiful. Especially loved the elk and bison! Would definitely recommend the tour!
Our tour guide was J.R. and right from the start he compared himself to J.R. Ewing off the TV show Dallas. Well let me tell you, he lived up to it. At every stop he asked if anyone had any questions and every time someone asked a question he was extremely rude answering them. There were 5 groups in our tour group and he was rude to 4 of them. The 5th group never asked anything.
The tour itself was beautiful and I will be going back for a self guided tour today because it is such a beautiful place to visit. I'm sure all the guides are not as rude as J.R. so one bad apple didn't ruin it for me.
Wasn't sure if I'd enjoy the tram tour after having already hiked it all (~3 hours), in the August heat no less. But it was excellent! Bob was our guide- uplifting, positive and very informative. Just the right amount of info and tempo to keep everyone interested. The tram takes you over some of the areas for hiking, but much of the tour is going to sections of the park you can't get to on foot. And it was worth the extra money and time. We saw many amazing animals, too. I
This was such a great tour. Our guide, James, was very knowledgeable and super friendly. The history, the scenery and those waterfalls. I highly recommend.
