Plenty of parking at the community centre....there are two beaches - at the centre there is a map to show you where to walk to the second beach which is about a five minute walk from the community centre (almost behind it). I have posted photos of both beaches - they are stunning. The community centre has toilets and a cafe.
Despite Rain, it is a superb location. Just a road to it is so exciting. Wonderful beach.
Lovely clean beach and of course no one on it because you are in the Outer Hebrides. Some waves coming in but wasnt really big enough for some surfing when we were there. It was bigger and well worth a dip at Traigh Eais on Barra which is the other side of the Airport beach. Solitary bliss
Stunning beach :) nice community run cafe near by. Outside is a map of a good walk around Vatersay. Beware of peat bogs on the far side of the island!
You can also visit the monument near by for the victims of the Annie James shipwreck.
A beautiful stretch of white sand and a few rocks. Climb the hills either side of the bay for lovely views!
West beach, one of the most stunning beaches in Scotland, deserted and untouched, just beautiful.
Please please put some money in the honesty box at the toilets. This beautiful place is only so because the local community made the effort to make toilets and bins available.
£10/night for campervans - they go round every night to keep you honest :)
This beach has never been one of my favourites. I'm not sure if it's because the beach on the other side has better views or what, but it just doesn't appeal to me.
