I walked right in and was greeted promptly by Tommy. I waited for Mike to get back from lunch to do my nose piercing and he helped me right away even though I felt bad interrupting his break. He was extremely courteous and explained from start to finish what was to be expected including aftercare. I also made a consultation to get a tattoo with Tommy. The whole staff was extremely nice and welcoming.
Tradewinds is an awesome place. Joe did a fantastic job on my tat, going over the details meticulously of exactly what I wanted. I want to share he/ they do small tats and that's not what many places offer. I looked around for awhile and read many great reviews about them, especially about doing smaller tats. He did not disappoint. I highly recommend this establishment. It's very clean and the personnel was friendly and I couldn't be happier. Thank you Joe & Tradewinds.
I walked in to get my septum pierced, Mike WAS SO KIND and very out going. I tend to over talk and a lot of people can come off rude, but Mike just talked back and engaged in conversation. Was patient, and did an amazing job on my piercing and was very welcoming when I had questions.
Great shop in west Maui.
Called Friday afternoon, they had me come by to discuss what I wanted. Scheduled me for the next day.
Both Adam and Shibon(sic), were fun to work with. Two hours later, I had a great tattoo.

Such an awesome tattoo shop. I got two smaller tattoos one as a memorial for a friend and the other two small words, Joe was meticulous about both! He drew up several options for both, helped me pick the best ones and created two perfect tattoos. I couldn’t be more satisfied or impressed with his work. The shop is great, everyone is so friendly and they really do everything the can to make you comfortable! Can’t wait to get back for another one!
Love it here. Laid back, down to earth and professional. My wife and I have both gotten tattoos from STEVE GARVEY over the last month and couldn't be happier. We came in with ideas and a week later he had it drawn up ready for our appointments. Exactly what we wanted. Everyone (including a younger guy who is apprenticing) we came in contact there were nice and treated us with great respect and courtesy. The place was clean and they are very busy which I would think would always be a good sign given how many tattoo shops there are out there nowadays. I highly recommend Tradewinds, and in particular Steve. I will definitely be back.
The only reason they get two stars is because Shaun did a clean job and he's very friendly. BUT. He overcharged based on the time he wasted. He made my boyfriend and I wait until almost an hour after my appointment time to call us back. It was at 1 and I wanted to finish early so I arrived at 12:45. Fast forward almost two hours later, and I'm out the door at 2:30. My tattoo is 6 Japanese letters very thin, maybe about a millimeter thick, letters ranging from 3/4" to 1" in length, taking up about 5.5-6" horizontally on my forearm. Shaun charged me $100 when it took approx. 22min from start to finish (I kept track). The only reason why he took so long was because he kept me waiting not one, but three times because other people came in to ask about pricing. Instead of asking for them to either wait patiently as I should be done in less than 30min, or direct them to the receptionist, he made us, THE ALREADY PAID AND BOOKED CUSTOMER, wait. Which I wouldn't have a problem with if he didn't overcharge me for the time HE took to bring me in. I was not late and it was not complex. Going to Burning Monk next time. My friend had a beautifully shaded and clean tattoo done (larger and more complex than mine) for $80. DON'T GET IT DONE HERE!
I have 5 tattoos and getting my 6th April 14, 2021. Joe has done my tattoos and everytime it's been great. I just give them my picture of what I want, Joe does a sketch and we discuss what colors I would like.
