Had a kebab when this place recently reopened which was fantastic... however tonight it was disappointing, small, with not alot of flavours,dry... Very sad and underwhelming... Shop empty for a Friday night,I should of realised by that..
Please put your heart back into your food guys,I remember the shop you had Which is now the tackle shop, that food was a dream and the food now is poor and loveless
A popular fish and chip shop ehich I visited with my family while on holiday on the Isle of Wight.
My only criticism is that the food was particularly greasy insofar as the grease was soaking through all the paper wrap. Other than that everything was fine. Portion sizes were good and all the food tasted very good and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. There was a wait for the food but that was simply because it was all cooked fresh to order which is the way it should be.
The place could do with a bit of a face-lift but that would only increase prices so I can live without it.
We were renting a lodge at Bay Colwell as we were on the island for our 1st Wedding Anniversary (we actually had dinner reservations at another restaurant that evening for our anniversary however due to a fire we had to come up with a Plan B)
So we decided to have Fish and Chips on the lodge and relax.
The food was far to expensive and terrible quality.
We had cheesy chips which barely had a thin covering of cheese, kebab which was stone cold by the time we got back to the lodge (less than a mile away) all just a but hopeless really.
Then there's the state of the place, dark, dingy with tiles hanging off, smashed glass and just generally run down.
The service was horrendous too. It wasn't until AFTER I paid that I was told it would be about 25 minutes, had I of known this I wouldn't have bothered, they seemed to be be saying this for every order too! The guy that served me sounded like he didn't want to be there and the guy in chef clothes was borderline obnoxious too.
After we left we found our order was missing items so phone the restaurant and they asked me to come back to which I declined. I suggested they refund the items remotely which isn't a difficult thing to do and they weren't able to suggesting I return for a cash refund ( yet further inconvenience me)
Overall, shocking. We visit on a regular basis and simply won't be coming back.
First time in the Isle of Wight and very hungry after a show day! Was exactly what we needed, delicious burger and generous cheese on the chips which were fresh!
Freshly cooked whilst we waited, our supper was delicious. There’s a huge selection of food to choose from to cater for different needs.
Easy street parking with ample spaces. Watch got it as you go around the corner or you might miss it.
We're over on the island on holiday and thought we would try Totties fish and chips as rainbows is closed at the moment. It was the worst fish we've ever had. Every mouthful had bones in. Not just your usual little bones that you can expect to find in any fish, but big bones! It was really greasy and stuck to the paper on the soggy parts.
The curry sauce was thick, cold and lumpy and resembled vomit!
Iv given this place 1 star because I couldn't rate it 0.
Total waste of money.
AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! RANK!!
Took a visit here to get some food after visiting the needles. Food was good, as you'd expect from a fish and chip shop. The staff were polite enough and the place clean. Prices were very reasonable in my opinion with plenty of different options. It was quite busy so must be a popular spot for fish and chips. There is a car park just opposite which is free for 1 hour so you can easily park here and grab your food hassle free.
Visiting the Isle of Wight, staying in Totland so figured why not try the local chippy. Staff were friendly, food was freshly cooked and very generous portions. Unfortunately the fish and chips were very greasy and soggy, so much so it soaked through the paper which then ripped when I tried to lift and tip the food onto a plate. The fish itself was tasty, just a shame it wasn't left to sit and crisp a little longer so to reduce the grease. I won't be recommending to friends and family.
