If you’re craving “Tostones” or fried plantains you’ve gotta check these guys out. Always fresh, crispy and tasty. The place is always super clean and tidy. There various ways to order the Tostones such as like as a burger, pork, ground beef, or just an order of fried tostones but make sure to ask for the garlic sauce.
This used to be my favorite place for salchipapa but now they barely put cheese and don’t even melt it. The guava sauce that comes with the fried cheese is more like a guava jam not a sauce which is not how it used to be either. Haven’t tried anything else again to see if it’s changed but the last two times I’ve ordered the same thing and it’s just not the same anymore.
My family and I came in on a Sunday afternoon. We were excited to eat here since we used to enjoy their food truck food. Well this restaurant is nothing compared to their food truck. The fried chicken was tasteless, dry and it didn't taste good at all. The fried plantain was oily and old. I ordered a side of rice and beans and the bean was extremely salty. The food was not great and the location was not clean either. The workers were just sitting there on their phones the entire time. Very disappointing to try to support our local restaurants and the food and service left less to be desired. Unfortunately be returning back, there's other restaurants in Tampa that actually care about their food and service.
Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon waited close to 45 mins (From the time I paid on the receipt) to get our food, there was no one else there so there was NO EXCUSE for the long wait. When we finally received our dishes my first impression is that everything "looked" great. As I took my first bite on one of the pork chunks I noticed it was all fat, proceeded to take another bite of three other pieces and they were also all fat.... YUCK! Terrible selection of meat in the owners part. You can't expect to charge $15 for a plate of pork chunks n fried plantains and go with cheap quality meat. I immediately brought it up to the workers and asked for a refund, I was not gonna wait another 45 mins to have it remade. I also ordered the Fried Cheese w/guava, and I was not impressed! It was this huge thick piece of cheese that wasnt even hot or cut up into smaller pieces. I did not think it was worth the $7 they charged for it. The person I went with had the Pork Jibarito and they said it was just ok. Nothing special and it also wasn't very hot. As a Hispanic myself, I can tell you that these types of dishes shouldn't be very hard to make so I don't understand how they can drop the ball. Overall, this place is a hot mess and they have many areas they need to improve on. Sadly, I won't be returning!
It was very good tostones got a little soft but that was do to how fresh and hot the meat was very yummy would go again
I ordered a meat board for 2 and everything was very well prepared and fresh. Incredible passion fruit juice. prices adjusted to the service and quality of food. I will be back soon!
Always a great place to go for your food!!! First time going to the one in memorial hwy and it was amazing tables outside to eat as well as inside... I had a great time sitting outside. My food was also brought to us while chit chatting away!!! Love it!!! That mayo ketchup woooowzers the best! ALL IS DELICIOUS THANK YOU! For six yrs they have been consistent!! For me....
I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time. I'm glad I finally decided to go eat here. My experience was great. I had great service and the food was fantastic. I decided to try their crazy fries and salcipapas. The value you get for the money is amazing. I got the Junior size orders of both of the items so that I could try both items that looked best to me. The junior size was so big that I couldn't finish them. I will definitely be eating here again in the very near future.
