This place is straight up legit. I am originally from SoCal and this food is spot on. Fresh tortillas are awesome and the food was not only authentic but fantastic. I tried a lot of Mexican restaurants in Baldwin County in search of good Mexican food and I finally found it. I can't figure out how some of the reviews say the food was great but only gave 1-3 stars. I get you might think it's a bit expensive but you are getting REAL quality food not Taco Bell. Some people don't appear to understand how rating systems work. For the one knucklehead making the race complaint. Two white guys walk into Tortilleria E&H for lunch and guess what happens? Excellent service and great food. If you don't get it Jim we were two white guys having the lunch. This place is all about putting out good food! If you can appreciate good Mexican food you are going to love this place.
Food and service are amazing, just make sure to get there 11-2pm to not miss out on their delicious lunch. Their carne Asada falls apart on every bite and the pastor is just the right amount of flavor without being overbearing. 5/5 authentic Mexican food with tasty chips and salsa. And not to mention amazing flour and corn tortillas. Would recommend to any taco aficionado and the ladies were super nice and welcoming.
If you want some authentic tacos come to this secret off Hwy 181. The food was very good .highly recommend
Second time here. We just got fresh Corn tortillas last time (fantastic!) and the second visit for tacos go lunch.
The atmosphere was friendly and food was authentically delicious. I got menudo, carnitas, tortillas and barbacoa.
We always purchase our Tortillas at this shop. We will have lunch there soon. It was very busy when we bought the Tortillas on Thursday around noon.
Very small menu if you're stopping for breakfast or lunch but the items served are pretty tasty. It seems like a very traditional place and the regulars will know what to get right away. We had to ask what they were serving because the menu is not readily displayed and when we found their FB page, the daily specials weren't updated.
The lady that helped us was super sweet and walked us through how they take orders. She listed their menu items and gave us the stub to the order ticket. We grabbed our drinks from the cooler and seated ourselves. The kitchen brought the tacos to our table with 2 sauce condiment options and a pickled veggie option. When done, we took our ticket stub to the counter and they rung us up. We asked if we were supposed to clear our table because we weren't certain and they told us no, they handled it.
It was delicious and while it was a little on the expensive side for what we were expecting when walking in, the portion of meat was more than fair for what was charged. We went on a Sunday and they only had barbacoa and menudo. We ordered 4 tacos with the barbacoa and 2 drinks - the total came out to $24 and change so expect to pay roughly $12.50 per person for a meal. The tortillas were delicious and very rich - if you've never tried fresh tortillas, I do recommend you check this place out.
