Best KPortal Reviews

The service is pretty straight forward, on point and quick. The sitting area is outside the shop (no inside seating).
The food is amazing. The tostada and the torta are very tasteful. For sure the Al Pastor from here is one of the best in the city
What to order? Everything. My recommendation:
- torta Carne Asada
- tostada Al Pastor
We were so excited to try this place, but sadly were not as impressed as we thought we’d be. It is at an old checkers so same concept, walk up, order, sit down outside or take out only. The carne asada was almost shredded the meat was so finely chopped. The carnitas was absolutely the best, juicy, flavorful, wish I would’ve just gotten 2 of those honestly. The al pastor was so greasy, like to the point where we took one bite and couldn’t eat anymore. I got the tostada with carna asada, wish I would’ve gotten it with carnitas, the meat smelt a little off and didn’t taste the best so took one bite and skipped it. They do give you pickle veggies with every order, and as many as you want which is awesome, we got extra of the veggies, big plus for that. We ordered flan, they originally forgot the flan, I went up to ask for a refill, they informed me they don’t do refills, which is fine, but then I realized they forgot the flan they quickly gave it to us. The flan was amazing and I’m glad I realized they forgot it because it was one of the things I remember from here. Sadly we will probably not be back, as the food was just ok.
Lots of hype for just okay food.
The torta was meh, was expecting so much more since it's the namesake.
The tacos were nothing to write home about.
The sope was also just okay.
The best thing was the hot sauces.
The staff doesn't come out to clean tables, and many patrons, unfortunately, don't clean up after themselves, so the tables stay dirty.
Wouldn't come back or go out of the way to come here.
Exactly the kind of taco I was looking for. Tortilla, diced onions, cilantro, protein and lime squeeze. Simple Mexican taco at its best!
And hard shell taco for 95 cents? In 2024? Just ridiculously satisfying for its modest price and quality.
I just had 4 different types of taco : carne asada, al pastor, chorizo and hard shell taco. Carne asada looked and tasted more like pan seared ground beef, but who cares if you are not even paying $3 for it? And the amount of meats (beef, pork and chorizo) were all in excessive quantity, so I ‘transferred’ some of these meats to the hard shell taco, voila I no have some meat tacos purchased at 95 cents!
I am definitely coming back next to try something else. This taqueria is a jewel in the neighborhood.
Delicious! I had the carne asada burrito special and it was absolutely delicious! The burrito was very filling and I felt that the pricing was great! I cannot wait to come back and try their other menu items. They gave me a red salsa and green salsa on the side which were so sooo spicy and flavorful I loved both of them and finished them both!! Overall come to Tortas el Rey for delicious AUTHENTIC Mexican food!! 10/10 experience
If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican place- do not get confused THIS IS NOT IT! This is definitely not an authentic Mexican food place. This place and the food quality is not the same as when I would eat here when it first opened years ago. Came today with the family to grab something to eat and it was definitely not a good experience not even the “waters” are authentic. Comparing the price, the place and the food with Taco Bell - Taco Bell would win. Take this as an improvement advice. If you know - you know.
Wasn't all that we expected it to be. People hyped this place up way too much. Maybe they were an off day when we went.
We had chorizo, chicken, al pastor, and carne asada tacos. The meat was missing flavor. We did appreciate the meat to tortilla ratio and the abundance of cilantro and onion on them. I would likely give them another try sometime but try something other than the tacos.
I got the pineapple agua fresca And It was terrible. Tasted like watered down canned pineapple juice.
This location literally looks like a revamped checkers which I'm assuming that's what the building used to be.
Also, service was okay. It is not clear that you're supposed to order at the front window and pick up at the side one and the worker was a bit annoyed that we didn't know to order there.
Overall, it was okay.
If you want the best authentic Mexican food in Orlando at great prices, go to Tortas el Rey. Aracely's service is outstanding. She is always friendly and makes sure everything is perfect. I love coming here every week because of her.
