Best KPortal Reviews

Great rooftop view! Very nice place to just lounge. Loved that it was within the hotel we stayed at. Service is 3 stars because we were told to seat ourselves, then after 15minutes of no service and seeing the server at the many tables around us, we had to order at the bar to bring the drinks back to the table. Otherwise- cool spot.
If I could give a 0 star rating I would, which is unfortunate because the venue really does have an amazing view of Portland. After my terrible experience there last night, I will not be returning nor would I recommend this place to anyone. I attended a small (less than 25 people) gathering to celebrate a friend's birthday. When I arrived I was shocked to learn that "our server" had called the police on someone in our group because they declined to sit in a chair at one of the tables reserved for our party and instead choose to stand at the table; this person had recently suffered an injury which required them to stand. Instead of showing empathy or trying to de-escalate the situation, our server was rude and his behavior only escalated the situation. With approval we brought in a cake from an outside vendor and asked if it would be possible for them to slice it for us. Our request was accommodated, for an outrageous price, which cost more than what we paid for the cake from a high-end bakery. I tried to order my drink from the bar but I was told I had to place my order through my server; I waited 15 minutes for the server to acknowledge me and take my order. The drink was well made. When it came time to pay, the server brought over ONE bill and stated that the check had to be paid with ONE credit card or cash; he became rude and argumentative when we asked for an explanation. Most venues will tell you from the start if it is their policy not to split checks, which he NEVER mentioned. I worked in the restaurant and bar industry for many years and I've never experienced such unprofessional and rude behavior. Top of the East, some of your staff could have done a lot better last night. We all left deeply disappointed and dissatisfied in our experience and most, if not all of us shared the sentiment that we don't have any desire to return to your establishment.
Not a single non-alcoholic beverage on the menu - major disappointment, especially considering even the hotel restaurant has a couple! I ordered a cocktail virgin and was charged full price. Then I ordered a ginger beer - $10 for a small glass. My partner enjoyed his first well-balanced Old Fashioned, and his second was overly spiced. The Amish Butter Board was super tasty but needs more bread! The Roasted Garlic Hummus was delicious and the vegetables served with it were hardly prepared - halved bell peppers loaded with seeds and halved radishes that were too thick for a naturally bitter food. The ambiance was lovely and a couple of talented musicians were playing. The music was extremely loud. We waited quite a while for service, once we were seated.
Three months ago, this review would have been entirely different, five stars for sure, which is why our visit to the Top of the East last night was so disappointing. The cool, upscale vibe with great food, service and ambience on our December visit, last night felt more like a frat party, with a live music duo not only impossible to talk over, but their "stage" blocked some of the best city views and consumed a good portion of what normally would have been premier seating. Service was slow and haphazard, the bar overall seemed understaffed. Unfortunate that such an amazing space would be so misused.
An incredible space with the best 360 degree views of Portland. This place is a vibe and serves up amazing cocktails. The espresso martini is one of the best I’ve had. They also serve a lot of good small plates as well. I tried the wings and the charcuterie board, both were delicious. We came in August and stayed at the hotel. It was super convenient having this easy access being in the building.
Over an hour sitting at the bar both these bar tenders ignore you and don’t even acknowledge you sitting there they only service the slips for the table, apparently tips are better from the waitresses! every person at this bar waited and we watched at least five to six couples wait no drinks no knowledge and still never recieve a drink worse two bar tenders worse hotel. They send us up to the 15th floor the atmosphere is terrible. I would never stay here agin nor would I have either one of these rude bar tenders ever work in one of my bars. We decided to move from the bar after sitting there like idiots for now an hour and half and sit at a table and finally waitress immediately comes over and it took all of 2minutes and we were served. This is the most ridiculous bar ever!!!! Never will be back and nor will this entire wedding party
The view is spectacular! Food and drinks are wonderful!
The reserved seating is extremely uncomfortable. The coffee table was so low it was hard to enjoy eating or drinking.
The food was rather abysmal. If you're only offering a few items they should be phenomenal.
The caramelized onion crab dip was horrible. We found 2 pieces of crab, no onions, sitting in a lot of liquid, and made of warm light tuna...it was awful.
The hummus had no lemon or olive oil...the peppers had all stem and seeds and whole radishes, not sliced...the pork was thick, not shaved, and a pale, bland sausage. Honestly terrible. My drink was good and our waitress was sweet.
Will not go back and most definitely will hot recommend to our family and friends from out of town.
