Food is fast and fresh with friendly service. All in all this is a good stop in DeLand and is pretty consistent.
I’m a fan of the calzone which is made to order and has a good ratio of toppings.
To each their own, this pizza is a good mid ground. Not as thin as many people like and a bit soft on the crust. Not too much sauce but not dry. With that said I feel like it goes over well with the kids and is a good option if you have different tastes in the family.
A nice little spot found while traveling in the area. Clean and well lit interior. The wait staff were friendly and informative. Food choices are reasonably priced and generous portions. Would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area and friends and family.
This little gem of a restaurant located in deland on new york avenue what's great. I brag about it and I will definitely be back. I ordered a slice of stuffed pizza. It was only 350 but it's so huge. I tell everybody they should go there and try that. The waitress was fabulous, the place was clean. It had a nice, authentic Italian Atmosphere.
Amazing stuffed pizza best stuffed pizza in Deland Florida downtown area. It was part of the lunch special I got a soda and a great little salad that complimented my meal!!
Tony’s pizza is an iconic restaurant in downtown DeLand right across from the old courthouse, and in front of the artistic buzz of Artisan Alley. Tony’s is a family run Italian restaurant with a feel of the Old Country brought to smalltown America. The pizza is phenomenal! A zesty tomato sauce topped with a thick layer of hot, melted, rich-flavored Mozzarella cheese, topped perhaps with pepperoni or sausage, is possibly the most delicious pizza I have ever put in my mouth. And, believe me, one slice of pizza is enough for the average person’s lunchtime appetite! Similarly, their homemade lasagna is out of this world, comfort-food delicious! Before your main course lasagna, eggplant Parmesan, or spaghetti arrives, your server will bring you a plate of steaming hot rolls drenched with garlic butter and sprinkled heavily with Parmesan cheese. This is a place you do not want to miss while visiting DeLand if Italian food is your thing like it is mine. And if you’ve lived in DeLand, all your life like I have…you already know this is the place to go for lunch or dinner that would make your Italian grandmother proud!
I was so looking forward to trying Tony’s since reading the reviews. I drive by all the time but never have the time to stop. Today I made it a point to have lunch there. I had a cheese slice. I would say it was meh. I have had worse. Sauce wasn’t all that. It had a good crisp due to being over cooked and then reheated and because of that, obviously there was no flop. I hate floppy pizza. I couldn’t tell on the cheese because again, it was borderline burnt. Frankly, first thing I thought was that the pie might have been an other customer’s reject and they hung on to it for a while for slices. Or they made a pie for slices for lunch and since I took a late lunch, I got the last slice. Or maybe they just had a bad day. I don’t know but I usually don’t go back if they don’t get the cheese slice right but I’m going to give them another shot to see if this was just a one off. I find it hard to believe that so many people have no idea what a good NY pizza is supposed to be like. If it is like the reviews suggest, I’ll edit/update my review.
It's a great little spot. Reminds me of a nice Italian place up in NY that my family frequented. The pizza is good, the food is great. The atmosphere is just a whole lot of people right next to each other and talking loudly because everyone else is. What's not to love? Oh! And the deals on the slices are awesome.
Ordered a large New York special pizza because we had always enjoyed it. This last time it was not so good. The crust was hard, the pizza was very dry, and it had very little ingredients. I knew it wasn’t going to be good just by how light the box was when the waitress handed it to me. I normally don’t leave bad feedback, but when you pay almost $30.00 for a pizza, it should be consistent.
