If I’m in the area, I have to stop. Legitimately the best hot dogs and beef in chicago. can’t forget about the top tier seasoned fries either.
I have lived away from the Chicago area for 26 years. So whenever I am back I must indulge in a great Italian beef sandwich. I was staying near Midway so I decided to give Tony's a try. They did not disappoint. I phone ordered the "big beef" with hot peppers and provolone medium wet to go. They told me about ten minutes. I got there about 30 minutes later expecting to quickly pay pickup and be on my way but had to wait about 5 minutes or so. But I realized this was a good thing as they meticulously assembled the order with the peppers and oil in a separate container which otherwise would have made the sandwich a soggy mess by the time I got back to the hotel. The beef was perfectly moist and seasoned and the sandwich was huge. I only planned to eat one half but could not stop. The staff was super friendly. It is pretty much a take out spot with a small counter eat in area and a small off the street parking area in the back. I highly recommend Tony's for any connoisseurs of the Chicago style Italian beef sandwich.
I love this place. Everything is delicious. I always get the Sicilian steak sandwich and the mushrooms with Continental sauce. It’s my favorite. All my kids love to eat here and we’ve tried almost everything. The employees are always kind and nice. I’ve never once had a bad experience. My husband grew up going there, and it’s worth the drive for the food and service. It doesn’t have a big seating area, But the foods worth it to take home. Thank you for being delicious and Kind!!!!
The service was very nice and their food was really good. Tonight was the first night my family and I went there and they got sandwiches and I got chicken. From my experience the chicken was great and I knew the beef had to have been good because it smelled amazing. They cook the the food right in front of you so you won't have to worry about them doing something to the food. For six people to eat it was 70 dollars for everyone. I highly recommend you go here and eat.
Lived up to the hype!
My juicy sandwich with hot peppers was done right and had great flavor. They’ve been around since 1975, so they know what they’re doing and they do it well.
What makes them unique for me is the lack of visible Italian seasoning in their jus and that their hot peppers are heavy in two types of peppers and have an unusual ingredient— chickpeas! Fries were fresh cut and crisp. Boys in the kitchen were friendly and patient while I figured out what I wanted from their gigantic menu.
Good to note is they only have a small counter for eating, directly behind the ordering area, so it’s probably best to take it to-go.
This place was packed with a line out the door…I was in and out and have to say it’s excellent! 10/10 recommend. If you’re overwhelmed by the wraparound menu just go with your gut and get the #6 dipped
My first time being here. Was harassed into going by an fellow employee of mine. I have to say it's good. The Sicilian steak sandwich was a bit salty but it was really good. The fries was delicious. If they would ease of the salt I would give it 5 stars. But in the end I didn't have a bad experience.
