If I could give ZERO stars I would. I got 2 orders of Jerk Chicken and pepper shrimp 3 festival and 2 fried boiled dumplings ( because I ordered on UBER EATS… it came up to $54) the Pepper Shrimp was spoiled… like as soon as I opened it I can tell it was spoiled because it smelled rancid. the chicken was about 2/3 days old…. It’s like all they did was reheated old food and gave me… I reported it to Uber eats and was told I cannot get a refund…I am very disgusted and disappointed….. imagine wasting $60 for rotten food and hearing it isn’t eligible for a refund.
This is a pretty good spot for lunch. The staff is friendly and the food is tasty. Last time I was here I enjoyed a Jamaican beef patty and a medium jerk chicken chicken. They have a pretty good jerk chicken it's not the best I ever had. The chicken was a little dry but it was very tasty. The Jamaican beef patty was very good though. The beef patty was super flaky and buttery and savory. This place is a solid spot and I would go back.
Food is pretty good and authentic in flavors. They give good portions- expect to spend if you like sides like Breadfruit or bammy...it adds up quick. Some days the service is ehhh as you will be waiting to even be acknowledged- this sucks when you waited behind someone being served only to go up and hear "we don't have that today".
I only come here for the fried dumplings and festivals. The best in town. They always run out so call to make sure it’s even available. Food is ok
The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the Jerk Chicken and rice and peas.

I reviewed this place 4 years ago on Yelp and gave it 3 stars. Today, I'm lowering my rating. A month ago in a breakfast order, they didn't include an order of hominy porridge. Today, again, they didn't send my hominy porridge. I'm not sure what the problem is, but obviously quality control needs work. I gave them another chance and ordered dinner this evening. Mind you, I haven't ordered dinner from them since I left the Yelp review about them 4 years ago. I do, however, order breakfast from them regularly. They seem to be the only ones who don't sell cornmeal dumplings, which I hate. I planned to get stew peas, but they were out, so I opted to try their oxtail Rasta pasta. I've never ordered Rasta pasta from any restaurant, so ordered jerk chicken as a backup in case I didn't like the pasta. I asked for oxtail gravy; there was none on my food. Instead, the chicken was drowned in this sauce I did not want, nor expected to be there. Perhaps they should state in a description of the meal that it comes sauced. What happened to just putting sauce on the side? Not everybody wants their meat drowned in sauce. I asked for white meat. There was a small piece of breast, a wing, a leg, and thighs. I don't care for dark meat, so specifically noted that I wanted white meat, and called prior to ordering to ensure they had it. At no point during the conversation was I told that if I requested white meat, it would be mixed. There was more dark meat than anything. Considering the jerk chicken is $17.99, it should be of no consequence to them to give someone just white meat. If I go to Tropical Jerk and get jerk chicken, the minimum price is $8.99 for a jerk chicken meal. When you request white meat, you get just that, and not a mixture. I should've just ordered from there instead. Of course I called to express my dissatisfaction with them and was told that they always put sweet sauce on the chicken, and they don't serve just white meat. It was then that I remembered having a similar conversation with that same lady several years ago. She claims it wasn't her, but I'm pretty sure it was. I'll say again what I told her then. If it's such an issue to serve just white meat, do what some other places do, and charge extra for it. Some places charge an extra $1. This place just gives you what they want, regardless of what you request. At least she apologized. Ultimately, the Rasta pasta was decent, but spicy. The jerk chicken will be tossed. It was completely drowned in sauce and looks like stew chicken. After my many breakfast orders and experience today, what I've realized, is for a place that charges so much for everything, they're very cheap. You can't get white meat only in a $17.99 meal. In the breakfast, you can count the pieces of saltfish in the ackee & saltfish. They load it with onions and peppers to give the impression you have a lot, but once you pick everything out, which I do, you realize they didn't give you much at all. In the calaloo & saltfish, same thing. You can count the pieces of saltfish in there, if you can even find them. After today, it'll probably be another 4 years before I give them a shot with dinner again. I'm also reconsidering even bothering to get breakfast. This place clearly doesn't need my money, and obviously, after 4 years, nothing's changed. That's unfortunate.
Great breakfast. I ordered ackee and saltfish with all the provisions. And added salt mackerel cuz I like more salt fish, be careful of the small bones in the mackerel. Well worth the price, my daughter tried some and asked me to get it again the next day. Never had it with sweet plantains too. Mmm so good thinking about it now. I usually go there for the red pea soup which is also my favorite!
Best Jamaican spot in the hood. Love their oxtail and curry goat! Lunch special prices are fantastic. They even have cow feet and curried chicken feet time to time.
