Great service and wonderful staff
First and last time I use this garage, needed a new driveshaft which they did costing me just short of 400 pound a few weeks later I go to my usual mechanic because of noises I can hear on inspection there was a bolt snapped off in the driveshaft two bolts missing from the engine mount, Because of poor workmanship from this garage I’ve now had to replace the driveshaft again,
My daughter broke down close to here and the RAC recommended they drop her car here. It was miles away from where we live as she was travelling to Devon at the time. Elaine was so helpful and while my daughter was away for the week she spoke daily to me diagnosing the problem with the car and then getting it fixed. Would highly recommend and if they weren't over 50 miles away from me I would use them all the time
Brilliant service from Tisbury motors! Really helped me out of a pickle yesterday and I’m very grateful! Thanks so much!
I wasn't initially going to review my experience of using this garage. It wasn't very positive, but I had put it down to a misunderstanding, perhaps a little incompetence at worse. Following last night's incident (which will follow) I actually feel as though this business' modus operandi is underhand, exploitative and generally unpleasant.
My experience of the garage:
I took my car here to change the wheel bearings a few weeks ago. They quoted £250 for the work, and said it would be completed after a day. I accepted the quote.
The following day I received a call to say it would be far more expensive, as the part they wanted was more expensive than they thought. It would instead be closer to £400. I said thank you but no thank you, and said I would take it to the garage I usually use (who told me the work should not exceed £200).
They said that was fine, but I would have to pay them labour for taking the car apart and putting it back together. This would cost me £250 alone. I clearly had no choice but to use this garage, and so I did; albeit rather begrudgingly.
What happened last night:
My sister lives opposite the garage. Last night, she travelled back from work and arrived home at midnight. It was raining and she was travelling alone.
Sadly the resident's parking outside her house was full. She decided to park over the road, on the garage's land. She did not block an entrance, nor did she impede on their trading space. She parked on the side of the road that leads to their car park.
This morning she hopped in the car to go to work and noticed the air on her tire had been let down. She went to the garage and told them. She was met with a rather abrupt response. "You parked on private property", and "we can fix it but it'll cost you".
Apparently they knocked on my sister's house to ask her to move it, but clearly as there was no response they decided to take action themselves.
Merry Christmas, Tisbury Garage.
Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful service. A rare find. People who genuinely want to do what they can to help and fix problems - an absolutely refreshing contrast to usual big garages. Please support their business
Being a Tisbury local, decided to fill up with £ 50 of top grade petrol (yes that's all they sell plus diesel) unfortunately they fill the car for you !!! After driving to Warminster I thought I would check if the petrol cap had been replaced (I own a 1996 Jaguar) it had not !!! Phoned, to be advised that they had not seen it and showed no interest, I returned to the garage and mentioned that surely this was a basic ( of course I should have checked but as you have to pay at the office as they fill the vehicle it threw me, after all I am 74 ) only to be told by the presumed owner, Mark (arm in a sling) " you take it off you put it back " I replied, surely replacing the cap would be common sense and good customer care ? After calling him out for his " Couldn't care less attitude " I was ordered from the property (arrogant) and advised that he did not want my business. The person then became aggressive when I continued, became confrontational and rushed at me with a red faced snarl, face to face, (Military and police training kicked in) I faced him down, mentioning my past active role in the military. As the person was still aggressive I called out to those in the forecourt to witness his behaviour and he appeared to calm down. I left the premises, walked to the Beckford Arms in an attempt to locate the item and also retraced my outward journey for a few miles without success, fortunately a replacement was available on E Bay. However, the confrontational behaviour was unacceptable and bears witness to recent comments from ladies, regretfully unable to give a zero as Google does not allow ! Tisbury Motor Company not to be recommended !!!
Passing buy the garage today to hear a member of staff being rude to an old lady looking to pick up her car. The person should not be let in lose on the public. Should be a zero score!
