Best KPortal Reviews
Enjoyed our lunch at this friendly Mexican restaurant. Interesting, tasty authentic choices. Great homemade chips and a smoky salsa. When I asked about the assortment of drinks, Jose brought a taste of each. I chose Horchata (rice water) and my husband chose Michelada (?) (sort of a red eye with a spicy/ salty rim)...both good. Our shrimp dishes (empanadas and quesadilla) were delicious and huge.
The atmosphere was also special...fresh paint, polished floor and newly renewed clean bathroom. Highchair available. Very affordable and off street parking in the back.
I love the taste but come on you guys this is a serious skimp for $16 and yes I drank the juice. I understand the cost of red meat but what happened to the frijoles u guys literally took advantage of this order! A serious skimp!!!! I'm looking at the bowls from previous reviews and that shows that I clearly got skimped..
Great place and has a patio you can go when it’s nice out. The carne en su jugo was pretty good not a lot of places makes it good especially with handmade tortillas! Along with agua de pepino y limon great taste not to sugary
I use to love the tortas de milanesa from here but todays was an easy 5/10 the meat tastes a little too grilled for my liking , almost Burnt and a little sour not much flavor. The green salsa was 3/10 and there’s no avocado in It
I had the Huevos Poblanos Benedict, they were delicious! The menudo unfortunately was not good. The tripe had a “earthy” taste- maybe needed to be rinsed more. Other that that, the server was really great with being timely and checking in. Good music (oldie rancheras were playing) and happy environment to start off the morning.
The immediate experience was very good but as my expectations were high from my last meal there, things went downhill a bit. The server was very pleasant but the order was not what we asked for and was also warm at best. The rest took us away from having drinks or dessert after our meal. Nice place that grew to accommodate more guests but the attention to detail was lost.
Great tasting Mexican. We filled up on the chips/salsa and queso fundido but enjoyed some of our entree. Not disappointed to take the rest home to enjoy later :). I have to spinach enchiladas and my husband had one of the steak dishes. All so flavorful. Definitely ask for the variety of salsas they have. They provide a cucumber infused water which is ok. Anyways enjoy! ????
Chicago’s Best Carne en su Jugo. A must try!!! Been to many places… but no one like Tio Luis’s Carne en su Jugo. It’s the tasty azada, and beans, everything from the bacon and radishes. You must try it!!! And ask for tortillas hechas a mano.
