Great location with less than impressive services! If you want a dirt room, and to go to the desk every day for amenities that you pay for that they don't provide you this is your place! From pizza or something gross on the ceiling to dirty cups daily, and no need to ask for fresh washcloths because your not getting those from house keeping to hot tube's being closed and don't for one minute think you can use the pool all day long because it's closed from 10-4... high dollar for super 8 quality!!! The restaurant is less than impressive! Foods comparable to any buffet steak in town and don't think you won't have to get up and get your own drinks here because your waitstaff is not coming back. Worst 5 days in a hotel we have had and I would definitely recommend going down the road!!!!!
We stay in Grand Rapids a few times a year. We picked the Timber Lodge this time, even though it's more expensive, mostly for the pool. But what do you know, they wouldn't open the dang pool! We were told it would be open at 8am everyday upon check in, but that didn't happen either morning. The front desk person just acted like it wasnt a big deal and wasn't her fault (which I'm sure it wasn't) but come on - you're not the one with a 2 year old already in a swimming suit ready to go - it is a big deal. Next morning, same thing.
No discount or coupon or anything offered. We were clearly unhappy and they just didn't care. Won't make the same mistake again!
This was a really great overall experience. From entering the door to the front desk service to the quality of the room to the quality of the pool...it was really really great. The room was just what you need. The bed was very comfortable. The bedding was good quality. The towels were high quality. And the shower(double shower) in the bathroom was phenomenal. My only negative on this experience was the TV picture was fuzzy and the pillows we had were very very flat. The breakfast buffet was super! It had everything and ticked all the boxes! Honestly the breakfast buffet had better tasting food than you can find in some restaurants.

The front desk staff, the housekeepers, the staff in the cafe & also in the restaurant. |The place is very clean. |Our room was cozy the AC/heating worked well. |Double shower was our favorite part! Super cool. |Very fun water park for the kids and even us parents. Definitely would love to go back. |Comfy beds as well.
Very clean hotel in a good location. However, the ever changing and short pool hours are extremely unimpressive. I'm paying more for a hotel because of this feature and am feeling very ripped off by it not being made available with any amount of consistency or dependability. The hotel also was very noisy and packed with prom kids and we were forced to park far away and walk quite a ways just to get to our room...hotel guests should be provided adequate parking and this was not done! I have balance issues and my friend has asthma and this was inexcusable treatment!!! I will choose wiser next time... I deserve a discount for the major inconveniences I obviously paid too much to put up with. Never again!!!!!
Super clean and extremely friendly staff! Everything was taken care of and absolutely excellent service!| Water park was orderly and tidy, breakfast was very plentiful and no plastic ware in sight! Excellent quality flatware and dishes.| The decor is fun and very tasteful, no broken or non functional items, well maintained site, with ample free parking.| No extra fees, everything was accounted for accurately. Can’t say enough good things!!
The hotel staff were very professional and kind. In the restaurant, our server was nice, but unfortunately, the food was mediocre.
Prime rib was good, but the Porterhouse steak was cut so thin and 80 percent inedible. Also, the baked potato was mostly cold.
They have an incredible apartment suite you can rent for even just 1 night! We stayed over the holidays with our family and were super happy with our experience. Clean rooms, the kitchen in the apartment suite is even set up with dishes to use. Great, friendly staff! And not to mention the pool area is immaculate!
