The food was great!!!! The service was great. First time going to the peninsula. Also, my first lobster roll was damn good!!
First time to Crystal beach, stopped in for a quick lunch had the fried mushrooms, during our visit I think it was the owner that brought a koozie for my beer! Love the hometown feel and the food was fantastic! The fried chicken wrap and Philly cheesesteak was awesome! Such a cute place! Great restaurant and will absolutely come back! Service was awesome and fast!
Food was absolutely amazing ! This place could be AWESOME but sadly every employee seemed beyond miserable to be there. I am a bartender so I understand more than most , but the vibe here is a wet blanket... We ate as fast as we could because we felt like such an inconvenience to the staff. A party tried to come in while we ate and they were treated so poorly I wanted to intervene . This place has potential .. the food really is amazing but when your staff is so uninviting .... it's hard to get past. The only reason we would go here is because they're open a tad later than other places. All in all the food is really that good , good enough to definitely try again .
The food was good. It was served in a timely manner. The prices are reasonable and on the menu. As a local, this place is a cool coastal hangout. Parking is abundant, and the area is easy to find. Our waitress was sweet and helpful. The tvs are nice and large. We will be back.
Great location, great building and decor. The service was great. The food was ok and needs improvement. The blackened catfish came out and looked like baked catfish. The color and taste was simply seasoned baked catfish. There was no sear at all and no blackening seasoning. The personnel need to travel around and see what blackened fish looks like. The hamburger steak was good, well prepared and seasoned. the brown gravy was good. The salad bar was acceptable, not a huge 200 square foot setup but served the purpose, everything there was fresh. Overall, they need to step up there food game a little. This can be a great stop along the highway in Crystal Beach, especially with a large brand name resort that has moved in not far away, they folks will want variety - give them a good place to go and keep the money in Crystal Beach!!!
The service here is absolutely terrible. The staff spends more time hanging out with locals than taking care of patrons. If you like deep fried food and messy tables and floors then this place is for you. They have an out door bounce slide which is a big draw for people with kids but it’s full of trash and the landing has glass. Do yourself a favor and venture out a bit further to some higher quality places.
Walked in, waited at the front for 15 minutes, so we decided to grab someone ourselves. Mind you this is our first experience. We didn’t know rather to seat ourselves or not, would be helpful to have a sign saying seat yourselves or please wait to be seated. Waitress was to comfortable, enough to be rude. I watched her cough in her hand, put her pen in her hair then take her earring out and hand it to what seemed to be a regular customer, all without washing her hands. dr.pepper was flat, very generous portions of alcohol even in a highball drink. The accomplish making you feel very unwelcome and out of place. It seems to be the owner behind the bar. Who proceeded to tell us when we finally sat ourselves that we were in the smoking section( we have to children under 3) but didn’t tell us how to get sat elsewhere. Kids menu is a sharpie made menu. Just seems to be if you don’t know them you aren’t as important as customers. Side salad served on a plate. With only cheese tomato and lettuce. Fries not salted. Asked for chicken fried steak gravy on the side. Got extra gravy on the steak instead. Chicken fried steak was AWFUL. Baked potatoes not hot. The restrooms smelled like pee had dried in there ten years ago. Concerned she over charged us. Then when asked we were told “I wouldn’t fu** you over” as if. I tipped her 15$ and it was more than she deserved. Very hateful. Also no itemized receipt. no point of sale system. Just guest checks with hand written items and prices. Not very comfortable paying this establishment. Threw our to go food away before we even left the table. FOH looked like a dump. WILL NEVER BE BACK. Unfortunately it was the only place on the island open. Aside from food trucks. No organization what so ever. Extremely disappointed. UPDATE= FOOD POISONING!
Came in Fri night of jeep weekend. Great food, great service. Was disappointed that they were closed that Saturday, but understandable it was a community stance to the unruliness of others that weekend. Will be stopping again
