I think Tian Fu is jewel in the authentic Chinese food scene in Indianapolis. All the dishes were well prepared and taste great and authentic. The portion is also great. We had Smoked Duck, Sautéed Pork Liver, and Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. There is quite an extensive menu of authentic Chinese dishes that you can order here and that is rare in Indy. I will definitely be back since I am a fan now.
First of all the owner/people working here are amazing and saved my Thanksgiving. I was making Peking Duck for a potluck and was already 3 days into the drying process, I needed last minute cucumbers and scallions. All other stores closed early so I was hosed. Then I thought maybe I can go to a restaurant and buy some. After explaining my situation to the owner/front desk guy, he went into the kitchen to ask and came back and ended up giving me some supply from the kitchen all for free! It made my week and the duck was a huge success. Thank you Tian Fu staff!

In terms of logistics, the online menu prices are not updated. I ordered the Mongolian Three and the official online menu said it was $8.45 but it was actually $9.95. Still came out to $10.85. Which was still a decent deal.
The hot and sour soup was tasty and good but bland, I typically prefer a stronger sour and spicy taste. The Mongolian Three was also tasty, but it was clearly fried first, which I didn't like for health reasons. There were only 2 small pieces of shrimp, I was hoping to get a bit more, otherwise I would perhaps just have gone with the Mongolian beef instead. The dish itself could also have used a bit more heat. The egg fried rice was passable, not that great. I do like that they provide a bunch of deep fried extras if you like that, they were all amazingly tasty but again, for health reasons, I try to avoid them. Vegetable egg roll, crab rangoon, and fried dough sticks for the soup, I ate them like chips.
I do like that they give you these cute reusable takeout bags and it felt better than the cheapo plastic ones. It will be my lunch bag from now on. Free advertising for them :)
Had their Chinese menu multiple times. My church catered from them for our 50th anniversary and it was decent. They have a very good Cantonese banquet menu for wedding receptions or company events. They also have decent Szechuan style menu items. I really enjoyed their combination soup noodle, that definitely felt like home cooking. The spicy and sour soup noodle tasted authentic as well.
Been here several times and it is absolutely delicious every time! The tofu dishes are flavorful and yummy
When it comes to Sushi in Indy this place is definitely on my top list of places to go. I got the endless sushi when I went. The price of pretty average when it comes to endless sushi. I liked the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. The service was super fast and they were on top of taking our orders. Lastly the sushi was super tasty and they have a good variety of options. I would definitely go again.
Great authentic Chinese food with lots of choices on the menu. We tried stir fry beef flat noodles, salted eggs eggplant and cumin lamb. The portion and price are reasonable and the noodles and lamb are slightly on the salty side for us but both taste very good. Will definitely come back to revisit and recommend this restaurant to our friends.
I’ve now gone here twice. Food is great and prices aren’t bad either. Last time I was here they had a robot that helped serve and that was pretty cool I must say. This time I got fried veggies, eel sushi, spicy shrimp roll and egg drop soup that is my favorite here. I’ll definitely be back again on my next business trip.
We did all-you-can-eat sushi to celebrate a birthday. Superior dining atmosphere compared to Watami and Sushi Club. Quality and price was about the same as Watami.
BIRTHDAY SPECIAL
If you let them know, the staff will light a candle on a dessert and have their ROBOT CAT SERVER deliver it while playing music. It made our night! We adore the cat robot ❤️
SUSHI
Sushi was fresh, and we were able to order multiple rounds. They have nigiri, basic rolls and some specialty rolls --no sashimi option though.
There were also other items on the menu that are included in the all-you-can-eat option: soups, appetizers, lo mein, etc. One of our friends doesn't like sushi, so they were able to order off the regular menu, as long as we promised that they would not be eating what came with our all-you-can-eat orders. Worked out great! We kept to our word, and we appreciated their trust in us.
SERVICE
Our server was a joy to be around. He had a good sense of humor and was quick to offer any assistance.
ATMOSPHERE
The sushi area is a separate room of sorts from the Tian Fu Asian Bistro. They had Japanese decor and a sushi bar. They had little lights on the table, like lanterns, that we enjoyed.
I forgot to take pictures of the sushi and entree items we ate because the food was so good plus I was hungry at the time. The only pictures I have to show are of the Sapporo and Plum wine I had. This place was cute, quick with service and had excellent food. They offer, Thai dishes, a large sushi option, Chinese dishes and Japanese dishes. You will absolutely find something good to eat on this menu. Enjoy yourself because I did.
