Think I’ve found my new go to place to sit down and enjoy a coffee here in Virginia.
The drip coffee was fantastic, quality flavour profile and as good as any I’ve had at the antipodean coffee shops in London. The pastries were delicious if a touch sugary (I couldn’t finish this one). I didn’t order any other food and I’d request management to consider adding one or two healthy food options to the menu (if there were I didn’t see any).
The music played here was so chill, someone has great taste. The decor and vibe are perfect too. And last but definitely not least the coffee came with two free refills. Looking forward to visiting this wonderful coffee spot again.
First time here. I love their coffee , it’s served at Grounded in Newport News. Well I have to say I love ❤️ it! Service was high quality and coffee delicious. Excellent sound track , sorry Grounded you gotta elevate your game music wise.
I came in to do a little work and try a new coffee spot, and I'm so glad that I did! The bakery case is full of super charming, nostalgic sweets (homemade pop tarts and oatmeal cream pies, among other treats), and the London Fog I had was whimsical and delish. Can't wait to come back again and try some more! Also, the vibe was super laid back—it was a great space to get some work done! Mucho gusto.
Just tried coffee it was very good first day. Since we liked it came back again it was horrible. I would not come back. There are so Many good places than this.
It’s Sunday, they close at 6 and everything is currently put away (it’s 4pm).. I was looking for a pastry and some tea and they listed off some pastries but I usually like a visual (but still no biggie) I ended up ordering a cookie but then they told me they were out of them.. they said the blueberry muffins were good so I opted for that. I currently have a Costco muffin infront of me. I wouldn’t recommend this place for the food at all.
If you find yourself in Virginia Beach and in need of a delightful caffeine fix, look no further! I just moved to the area a few months ago and this is my go to spot. This coffee shop has everything you need to start your day with a smile. For those who love a cold brew, the land lubber is a favorite that never disappoints. If you're feeling tired and need a little extra boost, the espresso is the perfect pick-me-up! For a more balanced and sweeter taste, I highly recommend the cappuccino…. it truly is the perfect cup. And don't worry if you don’t like coffee, they got you covered with pastries and other goodies. Also if you prefer vegan options, they have a few to choose from. The pastries are always fresh and delicious, making this shop a good place to indulge in a treat or two. Grab a cup of Joe and take a Sandy stroll on the beach or enjoy the laid back atmosphere at the shop. Either way it’s the perfect place for locals and tourist to get quality coffee and snacks!
I discovered this coffee shop in Virginia Beach a number of years ago. stopped at their newest location in Norfolk in 2022, and again this year in 2023 while visiting. I usually get the same thing. A landlubber cold brew, and the Becky sandwich. Both are fantastic. I think I prefer them more rustic ambience of the original location in Virginia Beach, but the Norfolk location is also very nice. A little bit more sleek and modern. I would definitely recommend.
This place does simple coffee right. The quality is what you'd expect from a place that prides itself on making a "perfectly complex cup of coffee". That's exactly what you get. If you can appreciate a good cup of coffee, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try. If you're looking for a 62oz mocha latte with caramel drip and 12 shots of sweetener, you will not be happy here. Save the $6 bucks and go to Starbucks. They have one size here, and that's it. Not trying to be demeaning, but the coffee is what makes this place shine, not all the stuff they put in the cup. You'll be disappointed if you're not in it for the coffee.
I ordered a latte and a pop tart.
The latte was awesome. Great balance and favor. It was a top notch cup.
When I ordered the pop tart, I found out was filled with Nutella/hazelnut. I hate hazelnut, but I had already mentally committed to trying the pop tart, so I sent it anyway. Surprisingly, it was awesome. I would have preferred to have it toasted (not sure if they can do that, in fairness, I didn't ask), but even so it was pretty legit.
The location is in a lower key spot off the strip, so it's a little more tame, which is nice. There is plenty of room outdoors to sit as well if that's your goal. Inside is spacious, with a fair amount of seating, and bar seating by the front window and around the service area.
Prices are on par with all the other coffee joints in town.
Service was prompt and the cashier was courteous. It wasn't crazy busy and my coffee came out in under 5 minutes.
If you're looking for a legit cup of coffee, this place delivers.
