Russ has been amazing! I started a sleeve a few years back (money made it a slower process) Russ has made it look amazing even with completing it piece by piece! He has been nothing but professional and has even worked his schedule around to accommodate my ever changing work schedule.
His artwork is amazing and I love being able to show it off, especially the free hand octopus he did!
The owner Russ does amazing work, I have had 2 sessions with him. He’s confident, takes his time and makes sure you’re getting what you want. I highly recommend him. I am sure the other artists there do great work as well. Russ is in the process of fixing all the hack job tattoos I have had in the past and they all look 10x better now that he has fixed them. Had a tattoo done by Russ today and he killed it, super nice and personable dude. The shop is really clean with a great vibe as well
Got my first tattoo done by Russ. Five hour long session and it was a blast! Asked me many times how I was doing and if I needed any breaks. Showed that he cared about my opinions and how I was feeling during the tattoo. Even reached out later and asked how I was healing up and if I loved it. Great experience and highly recommend!
The owner Russ is a decent artist but only if he cares about what he’s drawing. He most of the time draws it up last minute and seems to put 0 effort into actually making the tattoo look nice if his mood is off.
If you plan on spending a fair amount I’d pick a better place. It’s not worth risking permanent trash work on your body because someone isn’t interested or moody.

Edit: to reply to your comment below, it was just a very negative experience and you put minimal if 0 effort into it, and especially one of the sessions you were very visibly in a bad mood and that days session looked like absolute garbage. I didn’t write this to randomly lie, this is 100% honest review, maybe I can save at least 1 person the stress I had to go through getting a tattoo from you ????
Amazing place with amazing artists, love my new tattoo so much!! I had an old, awful black ankle band that was badly scarred and came in to see about getting it covered. Amber is the best, she has an incredible eye for color blending, her lines are perfect and she is great at listening to exactly what you want! Highly recommend!
Great experience with Russ! He did a cover up for me on my back, and came up with a great design and was nothing but awesome during my session, by the way thanks for the switch of music to Sturgill Russ! Lol!!. His work was top notch and his shop was great!
Chris was wonderful, he was so patient and kind. It was my first tattoo and it had a lot of meaning for me, he spent time with the design and made sure it was a perfect fit. I’m very very pleased and would highly recommend Three Rivers Tattoos in Rochester, you won’t be disappointed!!!!!
