Used to be a good GP surgery, but now it's a joke! The receptionists are rude and very unhelpful! And now with a touch screen computer for patients to use instead! what a joke another way to spread germs to other patients what a great idea give that person a clap whom thought that was a good idea?
A real shame as used to be a good friendly helpful little surgery.
Moving to this surgery was the best thing I did. You can always be seen if not same day the next. Staff are friendly and very helpful. No more chasing results as you get phoned with your results as soon as in.
Doctor's are great, but the reception staff bar 2 of the newer team members are rude as hell and have been for the last 20+ years. even after multiple complaints they probably still haven't received any customer service training.
I couldn’t fault the reception ladies at Thornhill Surgery. After a difficult time with my current surgery and months of back and forwards, including my midwife trying to solve the issue with my now previous surgery, these ladies got me registered AND booked in to sort a prescription i needed asap because of a new diagnoses due to my pregnancy, within 3/4 days. I couldn’t have felt more relieved and less stressed after SO long of getting nowhere. Thank you so much.
I've had doctors fob me off before and actually be quite rude and dismissive, but Dr Lewis is delightful. He listens, shows real compassion, and is generally a pleasure to deal with. The receptionist who booked my blood test was lovely as well. I just wish they'd get some sort of queuing system for their phones because trying to ring up in the morning for an appointment is a nightmare!
I'm happy with the doctors in the surgery but the last year it's just being harder and harder to get a proper appointment with a doc not on the phone or with paramedics. The main issue seems to be one of the receptionist as thinks she's a health professional and she deciding if you need medical help or no. Even with my two years old a few times when he wasn't well, kept arguing over the phone trying to convince me it's not their job to check him even though it's something we have to go through gp for. We're now calling only for urgent stuff, prefer to put up with our health issues just to avoid being treated like rubbish.
Good doctors surgery, easy to get appointments although most of the time sent to bitterne but nonetheless when I was at nicholstown surgery in st Mary's it would take weeks to get a appointment. Receptionists are very kind and deal with the huge workload they have in the mornings well
A few complaints about receptionists here. I've been a patient for about 20yrs and have no bad encounters with any receptionist. Sometimes I get a snappy one, but if that's her personality type, I'm not going to take anything personally, the job get's done, usually very quickly, and all is well.
I can't complain about the doctors at all. some I prefer more than others but that's about it.
The surgery is OK, waiting areas are good downstairs with plenty of seating but the upstairs waiting room is a disaster. Wooden bench seats line the walls of the room, and I can't imagine what sort of creature would be comfortable waiting on them for any length of time. the seating is generally on a par with the rest of the room. enough said.
there was a time when, for various reasons, I thought about a change of surgeries and waiting rooms, but I didn't. Good decision.
