Friendly and helpful staff and excellent fish and chips .
This place used to have a formidable reputation so we decided to give it a try..... My advice would be give it a miss rather than a try. Fish was VERY small, so dry, batter overcooked. What's even more shocking was they are cooked to order.... Does the fish fryer know how to fry fish? Chips were OK but tiny portions. Curry sauce too thin and peas tasteless.... Overall verdict 0.5 out of 5.Will never go back poor food. So disappointed!!
23/04/21 -UPDATE Sad to say this gem has closed its doors as of 31st March this year. So many business affected. Thank you for many great memories.
Great fish and chip shop with restaurant. The bathroom is a must see as painted very uniquely in a seaside style. Portions are generous and the food is always cooked well. Staff are very good and pleasant to chat with. Never had a bad experience. On a sunny eve, ask for take out and sit by the river. Do the same near Xmas and be treated to magical lights in the trees.
The fish was very overcooked and tasted like it had been kept in the heater for ages. The chips were nice and my husband said his pie was ok. The portion size was good and I thought it would have been a good price if the fish had been nice.
The fish, chips and peas are always good from here. we normally get take out but took my mum who likes to eat in and have a cup of tea! The dining room is very nice and the staff are lovely and helpfull. ☺

We had cod it was very tasty and was cooked to perfection in a light crispy batter served with hot non greasy chips.
Much better than Aldeborough award winning fish and chips by miles. Good service, everything perfect for eating in. Get up from Suffolk and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
