My first time experience was on point!
Cajun fries
Shrimp and craw fish in spicey sauce
2 lbs of shrip in lemon pepper sauce
Mac and cheese
All the meals were flavorful and the price was not bad.
Delicious food the boil special sauce is our favorite. Their lobster roll was also really good great service all around. Their shrimp was juicy and had a great texture. Would definitely come back!
I have been to a lot of seafood spots and this is a great local Astoria spot for seafood! The food was delicious and so filling. Ate the crab legs with shrimp with the Boil special sauce with a mild level of spices for one order and medium level of spices for the second order. We also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and potatoes which were also good. The total was 134$. The place does only take cash but they have an ATM inside. There is plenty of space inside and we did not need to make a reservation for a Wednesday evening. Parking in this area is a bit difficult. Definitely recommend !
Finally we tried it, and loved it !
The place is very clean, well organized (Sunday night holiday).
First off the drink, they have a decent draft selections, had a few and was great.
The appetizer, fried catfish and oysters were perfect. They give you lots of different sauces, even if just a splash of lemon/lime juice is the best.
We got a combo crawfish/shrimp for the main, with enough warning we still choose the Fire Spicy level, and let me tell you it kick ***. It has gost pepper in it, been told afterward :D. Amazing, loved it. Sorry for the bad picture, but they drop you a bag of food on your table, very authentic and casual. Not Instagram friendly but tasty.
With all tips and taxes included it was $120, cash only, not too bad. We would definitely come back!
Great experience!
Big portion of seafood and I’m confident that it will not be the last visit. The staff is very welcome and they informed us at the beginning that only cash is accepted and there’s 20% service charges for dine in the restaurant.
You can do a reservation by phone.
My boyfriend and I went there on a Sunday around 4:30 pm. I made reservations earlier the same day which weren't really necessary as it wasn't busy. We ordered our drinks and the waiter explained everything pretty thoroughly as it was my partners first time. The food was amazing, the only thing is that we didnt get the best filled pieces but it still tasted amazing. We got the king crab and the snow crab legs in their Cajon blend, mild w/ potatoes and 1 corn each. Great meal and the drinks were good as well. It is a cash only venue, the ATM avaliable does charge a percentage to take money out and there is a 20% service fee that's tacked on to the bill. I didn't see any signs about it and may have missed that on the menu but I assumed that 20% was including the tip. If it's not management should be more clear about that. Good vibes though.
The bad...Tried to order via phone for delivery, they said they don’t accept orders over the phone for delivery. You would have to order in person. This defeats the purpose of delivery if I have to show up in person to order.
The good... You can order via grub hub online. I order 15lbs of seafood for delivery. Was earlier than anticipated. Although my building didn’t allow the delivery person to come up to the apartment I had to meet them in the lobby. Skip the crayfish and lobster. The crayfish didn’t seem fresh. Had a fishy taste and when there was no fishy taste it had zero taste. The lobster was also not worth it, unremarkable. Loved the snow crabs and king crab legs. The best was the Dungeness crabs. So sweet and a lot of meat. The shrimp with head on is good too. They give you a half corn on the cob and some potatoes for every 2lbs of seafood ordered. That was really good. They didn’t provide any utensils with the order. If you don’t have the proper tools to eat the king crab it is difficult. Garlic bread was good.
The Boil Astoria is not only a gorgeous atmosphere, but a remarkably exciting experience, as well. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, soft crab, & oysters for starters. All fantastic. To drink, the Peach Lemonade is a must. The star of the show, however, was the full 1 1/2lb lobster. It was served steaming hot in a bag of garlic lemon goodness — accompanied by potatoes, corn, & all the garlic you could imagine. The wait staff was very attentive throughout our time there & the owner is a true host. Highly recommend!
