Best KPortal Reviews
We were also part of the Family group on Sunday 26th November reviewed by AB C.
Are you sure you were in the same room?
While I felt similar about the amount of veg, I must say that I am not of slight build and most of us are all big eaters.
While 1 board of veg may be enough for Four small eaters this was not the case for us.
With this said, this was a busy room and the staff did all they could for us.
I actually commented to my Wife how nice the dining room was.
It was a happy, cheery atmosphere where the majority of us were completely satisfied.
Room Great, service very good.
Staff Friendly and polite.
As for waiting for drinks, I had a short wait at the bar as we all had to order drinks there.
The staff were serving both bars not just ours.
With this said there were seperate tabs for each individual group so no waiting to pay or for change either, (thanks Anne)
Like I said before, I think AB C must of been eating somewhere else.
Well done Yew Tree
Thanks
????
Absolutely amazing roast dinner! Highly recommend. Lovely staff and atmosphere.
Thank you for two lovely meals we had over Christmas and the friendly staff who made us most welcome
We stayed at the barn across the road.
Thanks again Mike.Margaret.Sean.Sue.
Visited for Sunday lunch. It was excellent. We had the gammon and the pie. Food was all cooked perfectly. A great selection of vegetables. Roast and mashed potatoes. All food was piping hot. Staff were all very good, helpful and attentive. First visit for food - been before and sat outside for a drink. Will definitely return as this Sunday lunch was amazing.
Best Sunday lunches ever - sometimes it takes a little while to come out but more than worth it. Never yet eaten it all and never had a bad one, all served with a smile. We use it for meeting friends and not one has failed to be impressed.
Went this Sunday for a booking at 15:00
We were sat in the side room and swiftly had drinks order taken, menus provided and cutlery set out. The drinks cam quickly and we were told they would come back for food order shortly.
30 minutes later nobody had come to take our food order. My wife went to the bar. Smiles and apologies were given.
We were sat next to a table of 12z which I appreciate puts pressure on a kitchen. But this was never communicated to us. We had to chase for our food which arrived 1hr15 after being seated. Again lots of smiles and apologies, but it's annoying having to chase for your food.
Then when I went to pay, our order had disappeared so I had to recount our order for it to be paid!
What's most dissapointing about the front of house experience is two fold. The staff were all super polite, they just completely failed to communicate issues in advance and most importantly the food was lovely! Wholesome quality food.
I hate leaving lower star reviews, but I hope the team find this useful and I'm sure we'll be back in the future to try and redeem the experience.
Visited the Yew Tree Inn twice in recent months and neither time have they been serving food yet the website displays multiple menu’s. Unsure of the first reason (possibly a broken oven?) but the second was due to a lack of staff apparently. A number of beers were unavailable although the overall selection is good. Asked for a Prosecco but was told there were no small bottles so seemingly we couldn’t have it.
Nice looking pub with a cosy feel.
I’d heard really good things about the pub but sadly I’ve never seen or experienced most of them.
If you find yourself driving down to A52 on the way from Ashbourne and you see a sign for the Yew Tree Inn you need to make your way there. You will find, like we did today, the warmest, friendliest welcome to a fascinating pub. We only stopped for a short break but the service was excellent and the menu looked very tempting. We will certainly call in again next time we are in the area and recommend that you do the same.
