Best KPortal Reviews
I’m so glad this place was open for the season! From the warm welcome by owners Amy and Chad to the stellar service from Kaci, our experience at this hidden gem was top-notch. Their recommendations for a delicious steak dinner were spot on, and the food itself exceeded our expectations. Don't miss out on the miner's burrito—it's a true delight! Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast or a memorable dining experience, this spot is a must-visit.
My wife and I just ate here this morning Dec 5. We got in to Ouray yesterday for a two night stay and learned much of the town is closed for a few weeks for slow season, so we weren't sure what we could find for breakfast options. Called Yankee Girl and they were open. Beautiful little quaint restaurant with some great breakfast options. I had the French toast, bacon, and 2 fried eggs. My wife ordered a pancake which was hugs. The food and coffee were delicious and our waitress was so friendly.
Absolutely incredible!!!! Ashley, our waitress went above & beyond. All of the staff was friendly & so helpful. The food was absolutely fantastic. The salad bar was so fresh & delicious!! I love a good salad bar & they are hard to find. I couldn’t have been more pleased. I ordered the Alfredo with shrimp & it was perfectly seasoned & the sauce was creamy & delicious. I really was blown away by the service, the food & of course the views from the patio also!
???? Theresa, the hostess, was fantastic. She welcomed us with a smile and took the time to get to know a little about us. She was wearing her FSU shirt, and me, being a Florida native immediately struck a conversation with her.
???? Maggie, our waitress was kind and made sure we had everything we needed.
???? The atmosphere was homey and laid back.
???? They offer outside seating as well.
???? The portions were generous and priced reasonably.
???? My pancake was okay, as was my sausage patty.
???? Hubby loved his bacon. He stated that it was some of the best tasting he's had in a while, and he all of it and his French toast.

Stopped in to grab brunch and was greeted by extremely warm and friendly staff. When my plans to dine in suddenly changed to carry out, a quick change was made and I was out the door in a matter of minutes. My miner’s burrito is likely to be the biggest and best breakfast burrito I’ve had in all my travels. The heavy pour on my mimosa and seat by the fireplace truly made the ambiance memorable. A delicious warm meal on a cold and snowy day. 10/10 thank you!
First and last time at “The Yankee Girl Restaurant”. Unfortunately, my party of five didn’t even get a chance to eat since they never put in the order. It is a very small place and understandably crowded on a Saturday morning (got there around 9:45 AM). We didn’t mind waiting for a table at first. We got seated in 5 minutes because it was too chilly for me to be outside, otherwise it would have been sooner. That’s when the actual waiting game started. It took another 10 minutes just for them to take our order.
I noticed that the manager (I assume it was the owner/manager) was already flustered asking a few of the other tables if they had been helped yet and thanking them for their patience. She never checked on my table, for some reason. We waited about 30 more minutes, but as soon as other tables who had been seated at least 15 minutes AFTER us started getting their food, I finally asked a server that was walking by if she could get an ETA for us since we had been waiting a while now. They never even brought our drinks (only water). The server had to get our waitress to check on our food and she finally came over and told us the “ticket never printed”. If she had at least checked in on us a little sooner she would have figured it out and we would have still waited for our food. I will say the waitress was a bit embarrassed about it and offered to put our coffee to go, but at this point we didn’t want to wait any longer. Disappointing to say the least.
Heads up, the menu is very limited and they only serve breakfast (the lunch menu is there, but you can’t order from it until noon). Everyone else’s food looked good, but not likely that we will be giving this place another chance next time we are in Ouray. Sad they couldn’t offer better service.
The staff is amazing! Our hostess Ashley was wonderful, the food was delicious and the atmosphere is great. It's not as busy on that end of town so you can have a nice quite meal with beautiful scenery.
By far, one of my absolute favorite places!!! Wesli & Kaci are seemingly the life& face of this restaurant. They are so welcoming, helpful, kind, and overall some of the best people I’ve met. They will do everything to make sure you’re taken care of, especially when they are slammed. Those girls made me want to make this apart of me biyearly trips to Ouray. The food is also spectacular!!! Absolutely recommend!!!
