A very nice, and friendly enough pub. I had my first ever alcohol free beer on draught here, after not seeing it available in 100+ pubs, and it went down a treat!
I was already feeling quite hungry before I visited but the remarkably good service influenced me into eating there, and I wasn’t disappointed! Albeit the pie was smaller than I’m used to in pubs but then I don’t think that that really matters when it tastes good! (Kinda closer to a chippies pie if I’m being honest but it does add to the informal charm of this place)
A nice, and relaxing atmosphere to boot. I’m sure that I’ll be back at some point or another
Really good food at very reasonable prices. Excellent staff and friendly service. Highly recommended, and not too far out of Manchester for Sunday lunch.

I have coeliac disease and am amazed at the quality of the food and care afforded by staff, in particular Anton and Sophie. Great sized portions, homemade food and decent prices. …. Oh and equally good for those with a normal’ diet!! Well worth a visit.

Lovely local pub serving good food and can cater for allergies. I am coeliac they have a separate gluten free menu i had a lovely meal steak pie, staff are knowledgeable and the chef Anton came to check everything okay. Will definitely be back
Tried to give a fair review here. Going in for a few drinks and sometimes food is usually fine. Last two times we have been in for food we have had to go elsewhere. First there was a race night on so for some reason they can’t do food, no idea. Landlord told us….”it’s your house and a takeaway then isn’t it”. No need for such a comment.
Second time was tonight and there was a small gathering in there for a Christmas meal so they could not do food for anyone else I was told. Again, no idea. On a normal night no idea how they would cope if more than four tables wanted food.

Loved the etched sheep on the widows and your theam throughout the pub. Excellent choice of home cooked food and the most friendly staff I've come across in a while. Pizza and garlic bread was amazing, along with the chicken tikka , fish and chips and hot roast beef ciabatta sandwiche . Our first but definitely not last visit. Heads up for the gluten-free menu.
My first time here, I visited with some work colleagues who've been working from home for a while so it was nice to get together.
There was a little bit of weirdness when we asked if we could move tables to a sunnier area and I should mention that we asked for an outside, but covered table as rain was expected, however when we got there it was nice and sunny so we asked to sit in the sun. There seemed to be some difficulty and if the place was busy I would understand, but the place had only about 3-4 tables being used so there were lots of free tables in sunnier spaces. However after the initial difficulty we were soon seated and given menus and drinks.
The meals were good and the attention from the servers was excellent. I had Hunter's Chicken which was a little messy, but very tasty and overall it was a nice lunch and I will definitely visit again.
