Beautiful area , facilities are all new and very clean, very quiet. Has everything you need from basic camping to caravan or mobile home. Not expensive. Won’t find anywhere as good as this . Very high standard.
One of the best pubs I been too
With camping and stunning veiws
We camped in the field at the back for two nights, very peaceful place with great views. Lovely friendly people, great showers, toilet, drinking water & washing up facilities, electric hook up, will definitely recommend!
Lovely place. Great beer, friendly locals. I wasn't able to use the small caravan site behind the pub, as the ground was so sodden, even the Terracan I was towing with would have been bogged down. The landlord was extremely helpful, and kindly let me park up in the carpark. The toilet and shower block was clean and tidy, with hot water. Went for a short walk in the morning for an hour or so, with my 7yo son. What a lovely area. Will hopefully be able to visit again in better weather.
Spent a very pleasant evening in this remote hostelry after visiting my daughter in Macclesfield. Friendly folk and really nice beer. Campsite very clean and functional. Aim to go again soon and will remember my walking boots next time.
Such a lovely site with very friendly owners and staff. Views are stunning and very peaceful area, Just up the road is Blaze farm ice cream and farm for children a must go. In the pub is Proper home cooked food the Mix Grill is a must try. We will be visiting again soon.

What a dump!
Several of us booked to meet up between Christmas and New Year. There should have been 10 caravans/motorhomes coming, but some couldn’t come due to lack of pitches!
The site is advertised as 14 pitches, what they don’t tell you is that 5 out of the 6 hard standing pitches have permanently sited caravans on them. The remaining 8 pitches are in a sloping field, again not mentioned when booking.
We were second of our group to arrive and had to put our caravan 3 feet in front of two of the permanently pitched caravans. As others arrived, they also had to squeeze in to the small area. The field was soaking and boggy, to be expected at this time of year, and was unusable. Still 3 units to arrive but no where for them to go so two said they would just drive to see us and one other came and pitched in the pub car park.
We had all paid deposits over the phone when booking. Those that couldn’t come, because there were no pitches, were refused a refund of their deposit. One couple who slept in their car where charge £14 by the landlady!!!
Two adults and a dog, with EHU, £18.50 per night and none of us, except one caravan, had a pitch. The facilities are basic and run down, the ground uneven and rocky. Yapping and barking dogs, which the landlady left out from dawn till dusk, even on the days that it snowed heavily.
If it had been any other time, just a break away, I would have told her, in no uncertain terms, what I thought, and left. But we were in a difficult situation, people had come from all over, it was between xmas and NY, it then snowed, we were stuck with what we had got, trying to find somewhere else nearby, there and then, was impossible.
This place is a complete rip off. They happily took bookings and deposits knowing full well that they didn’t have the pitches to accommodate us, downright greedy and unfair.
I would hate for anyone else to be ripped off as we were.
