My band Probable Cause UK played here on Sat 4th Nov 202.. The place was rammed, great atmosphere, the crowd are willing to get involved. The staff were super friendly and really helpful in getting us set up. A really great night out. I can't wait to play here again in 2024
My kind of pub. Friendly staff and customer's, good pint and reasonably priced.
I was not allowed in for no reason by the security I asked him what time do you close and he said “now”, while there were other people were entering the pub. I understand it was 1:25 AM but why were other people being allowed in and not me? Security stopped me and said “Where do you think you’re going?” While other people were allowed inside. I suspect the reason was not the time. I was just there for a good time, that is all. He also pointed at Redz bar down the street saying, “go there”.
This happened at 18/Dec/2022 at 1:25 AM. You can ask who was on security at that time on the front door.
Definately do not reccomend. Staff that I encountered were rude and couldn't accept when they had made an error.
I made a reservation to watch the football which was accepted and I travelled in for but when I arrived I was told I just have to find anywhere to sit, which I couldn't as it was packed hence why I booked. I reiterated that I made a reservation only to be told that their colleague shouldn't have accepted the reservation and that even though I had reserved a table it doesn't mean I get a table...literally makes no sense. I wasthen etold I don't get a table because I booked the same day. Surely you don't accept the reservation then? Even worse as the manager was unprofessional by deciding to back their colleague's baseless arguement rather than be do what a manager does and listens to the situation and tries to be unbiased. Rather than accept their error they tried to blame anything else possible.

A nice pub in Hemel old town. Had live music both nights when I was there, which wasn't bad and although the pub was busy the bar staff coped well and I never had to wait for a beer. It was a late night on Saturday, so good place to end the evening.
Post covid has made pubs very clean, calm and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed walking in no prior booking and getting a lovely table to the side that was spacious and quiet so we could play some of our board games, we opted for Pandemic due to the irony :) they were out of J2O and overcharged on a soft drink but the servings of spirits was very generous and we were left in peace to play multiple games. If only Covid was as easily beaten / cured!
The best place to go out in Hemel really. Either live bands or a DJ on the weekends. I think it's meanf to be over 21s but varies on door staff. Not too expensive either! Usually quite busy good atmosphere.
