Quality service and food. Thank you so much.
I was impressed by the determination of the host to keep his business running (by supplying take aways), despite the lockdown. I highly recommend anyone reading this to support this friendly and quality pub restaurant, to help them survive. They really deserve the chance to enjoy success in their business when this is all over.
We have eaten in White Cottage many times fit weekday lunch, evening meal and Sunday lunch. Always a fantastic meal. Excellent value and huge portions. Our friends have also asked us to post that they had a beautiful lunch a couple of days ago. We will continue to use the White Cottage so keep up the good work Roger.
We have Sunday roast, to take away,a few times a month. Huge portions, several types of vegetables. You take your own plates, so it's all plated up for you. Staff friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend.
My husband and I arrived about 20 minutes before opening time, the owner was kind enough to open early and let us in. The food was delicious and my husband’s steak cooked to perfection. The service we got was excellent and food was not over priced. We will definitely be back.
Had a wonderful lunch here on Tuesday. Food served piping hot and cooked to perfection. Nothing too much trouble for the owner and very helpfulTables very well spaced for social distancing and everything in order for tracing etc.A very friendly atmosphere and food cooked and presented to a high standard we'll worth a visit to support new owner in these trying times.
Great Place for a quiet meal with friends and family, olde country feel to it, I had creamy stilton garlic mushrooms with garlic bread for starters, Grilled Trout with buttered almonds, veg and new potatoes for mains and trifle for dessert. My thoughts on the food, absolutely first class, enjoyed it immensely. Never had Grilled Trout before, usually have Salmon, but this Trout was so good I'd have it again. The trifle was proper trifle with dream-topping and hundreds and thousands, custard, jelly, trifle sponges and a small amount of fruit, as it should be not with with so much fruit there's hardly any jelly like in some places. Very well done. Staff very friendly, and helpful, especially as one of our party had food allergies, and the staff were happy to change things to accommodate.
The restaurant was fairly empty but was dissappointed overall. Drinks and food orders taken promptly but we had to ask 3 times for a jug of water. Only 4 of us but meals were wrong for 3. Gravy brought over when meals nearly finished. No fillet steak available even though on the menu and restaurant empty. Steak and ale pie good but small. Game pie not very nice. Belly of pork ok. Lastly we couldnt catch eye of waitress to pay as she was stood with her back to the restaurant(????) and we had to go over. Won't be going again.
Lovely little gem, staff accommodated naturally with a happy friendly manner. Restraunt style, great tasty food at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend. Thumbs up.
