Avoid awful food hot food served on cold plates tasteless, mash potatoes were like powdered smash carrots most definitely seen better days roast potatoes seemed like they had been deep fried and when trying to cut in half I nearly took my sons eye out as it shot off the plate. Nothing eaten off my plate so had to go and buy something from the supermarket to cook. Hopefully they can improve in time ????
Delicious lunch from Rock Up Kitchen at The Whistling Badger. Dishes were full of colour and flavour. My favourite was the Beetroot Croquettes, would highly recommend!
We had a great night's stay in the WB. We received a really warm friendly welcome from Fran. We had lunch and a few lovely pints of the Wye Valley IPA. The food was excellent, a complete surprise for a small country pub, the flat iron steak was beautiful, what a delicious topping. Our friends had booked the en-suite room and we stayed in the non en-suite room with the large bathroom and toilet down the hall. Clean fully functional room with a tea/coffee machine and biscuits ;-). Really comfy bed. Large car park and beer garden at the back of the pub. Thanks for such a warm welcome, we will be back.
What a remarkable spot! Great beer selection! Football on the telly! Lovely patio and a great staff!
Would highly recommend to anybody who’s looking for a cozy night in or mid day lager!
Thank you for everything Sarah!
Booked a room in desperation having messed up a booking elsewhere. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Beer was very well-kept. Room was revolting. Sash window was broken and had to be held open with a coat hanger. Situated over the kitchen and the smell of old grease was overwhelming on a hot night. On visiting shower room down a short corridor I nearly brained myself on a low lintel, TWICE - no warning signs or padding. You might ask: “What do expect for sixty quid?” - more than this!
Great beer garden for the warmer months. Just been to a wake there on Wednesday for one of our closest friends. The food provided was quality. Ambiance was perfect for the occasion. What a great way to say goodbye to a near and dear friend. Lots of tears shed but the staff were perfect. Thanks and well done.
Lovely pub in a very pretty town
Good selection of beers and food is very nice and well priced
Would recommend this pub if your in the area
Family of four, camping for the week and needed some home cooked food.
Negative first, a rather small menu compared to what it showed on the internet.
However, and this is a big However, food was absolutely fantastic, kids loved the burger and the fish and chips was the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time! Not greasy and very fresh.
Staff were lovely and welcoming, and the chef made outstanding food.
A very lovely pub.
