I love this place! It has a roaring fire in the winter and also has outdoor seating which is perfect in the summer. Wheatsheaf is very dog friendly, there is often a dog that fancies a back rub.
Great local drinking pub, sports TV in the background, dogs super welcome, great host, laid back, chilled atmosphere.
A great little town pub serving a good selection of beers and spirits, with a regular change of guest real ales from local brewers. Always a good atmosphere and friendly staff. Clean well kept facilities , a car park and beer garden as well as an outdoor sheltered area. Dog friendly but no food, which only adds to its appeal as a charming traditional pub.
Small local.standing room only at busiest times.good seating outside for summer.
Popped in yo this pub on the outskirts of Howden. Really friendly and decent beers. Needs to offer food though. Hence 4 stars instead of 5
Best pint in Howden by a country mile and I dare say in Yorkshire! The landlady and her staff are absolutely more then welcoming! My dog likes it there too!

An underrated place where the music is good, the company friendly, and altogether too many people worried about the previous owner. I would recommend this place to any adults wanting somewhere, whether to celebrate, to have a normal night, or find somewhere they can be themselves. Sometimes has dogs in (which are cute and don't make the place smell of dog)
