Tebay is the best motorway services in Britain!!!
Promoting local fresh farm products.
Employing happy, enthusiastic, well trained local people.
Offering delicious home cook style food with lots of flavours.
Catering for diferentes special diets.
Children under 10 years old can have a hot meal for £1 when purchased alongside one adult.
You can have freshly cooked homemade sausage rolls, sandwiches, soup, salads, cakes, ice cream, etc, to take away.
And you can do the shopping to take home on your cold box & they give you free ice bags to keep your items cold! ????
Think of a typical British motorway service station... Scrap whatever picture you had in your mind as this is a really lovely place to stop, eat/drink, rest and play. Wonderful environment with gorgeous scenery, a children's play area (albeit small) and an amazing shop selling a huge array of interesting, quirky, delicious and unusual food, clothes, toys and other products. Don't expect things to be cheap but you can expect quality.
Before going please remember the ethics of this establishment as they are supporting the local industry by sourcing local product's from local producers and so if you want cheap then go to McDonald's or KFC but if you're after quality and good home cooked meals then this is the place for you.
These services are the only ones that I look forward to stopping at, having found them a while a go and suggested them to others to stop and see for them selves, after stopping here all the other stops are just loo breaks for us.
Visited the Northbound services. Far superior to the vast majority of motorway service stations with clean facilities, as well as wholesome locally sourced food. Beautiful views too if you have the time to take a stroll outside.
Very clean and welcoming. The hot chocolate was divine. Plenty of hand sanitizing station and in the cafe I notice face coverings were available.
Highly recommended.
Everyone goes on about how fantastic Tebay is. Well. Newsflash. It isn't much different to any other service area, even down to the overpriced tat in the shop. Utterly disappointing.
A wee stop on a long journey. Even better if is great weather. Icecream, large variety to choose from on normal prices. Lovely staff
Only wanted to stop here for a quick break but I ended up here for an 1h. Best motorway service I’ve ever been!!
