The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa

We had high hopes for this spot after looking at pictures and reading reviews.  Unfortunately, the property did not live up to our expectations nor the Westin reputation.  ||The property is well worn though not well maintained.  Everything is showing it's age and lack of maintenance.  From the non-functioing fountains filled with stagnant water and trash to the chipped and dirty paint on the doors and trim.  ||The property is clearly understaffed.  One attendant for check in.  One waitress serving the entire lobby bar area/patio another serving an entire restaurant, which was operating on very limited hours.  Rick's Cafe is the only sit down restaurant advertised as having breakfast, but was not open for breakfast. W||e grabbed coffee from the very limited Marakesh Express and headed to patio.  The patio area is beautiful, aside from the trash and stagnant water in the fountains mentioned above.  However, there was still take out food trash and empty beer bottles from the previous night.  ||The pool area was very spacious.  The pool, however was cloudy and dirty.  There were a few people in the water, but we would not go in. If the water in our pooled looked like that at home, I wouldn't let anyone near it. ||After spending one night, we made the decision to contact the manager and look in to moving to a different property.  The manager was apologetic and offered to make it up to us.  Unfortunately, there were just too many deficiencies for us to stay.  She was kind enough to let us out of our prepaid 6 night reservation and refunded what was due to us.||The shame of it is, that the grounds are gorgeous. The lake view from the patio stunning. The staff seems to try, but there are too few of them. Management seemed overwhelmed with the staffing and facility issues.  Hopefully, they can get it back on track.  ||

My mother and I were on the strip for a week and decided to stay here before flying home to get some peace and quiet. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are large & comfortable. We ordered room service and the food was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Pools looked beautiful. I didn't go swimming only due to weather. Very quiet and restful hotel. I would recommend this place to friends and family. ||My only caution to other travellers: This is very much 'out of the way' and cabs would not take us. A cab picked us up on the strip and left us on the side of the road when we said where we were going. We had no issues with Uber though and that included a 0430 pick up time for airport. So if you're planning on staying do not rely on cabs. Uber cost us roughly $50usd to airport.

Disappointing, especially for the price per night. Kinda shocked that this is a Westin. It's more like an old Hampton Inn. The rooms and pool are in dire need of a face-lift. The pool was extremely dirty and cloudy water. The other pool was closed. Bathrooms & furnishings are outdated. The shower tub combo was very slippery and seemed dangerous. Also, the Master bedroom suite is not a bedroom suite with a door to a separate bedroom like one would expect. It is just one big room and the desk oddly sticks out into the middle of the room only so that you can turn the TV around from living room to bedroom. King bed mattress is super old and the sleeper sofa is the most uncomfortable mattress. My dog has a better bed than that. We canceled our next 2 nights and only staying one night. Like other reviews about the crazy elevator, my husband did get stuck in it for about 2 minutes. The positives are that the front desk was very friendly and helpful. And, I thought the lobby seemed more updated and nicer than rooms. It's sad because this hotel could really be amazing if it were kept up. It's in a great location and beautiful area.

As a first-time patron of The Westin brand, my experience at The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa exceeded all expectations. I love Hilton but wanted something different and I'm glad I did.

During my stay the resort proved to be a haven of tranquility amidst the perfect weather and sparse crowds. The pool area stood out as a highlight, boasting comfortable seating arrangements, seamless access to ample towels, and convenient snack bar service within a mere 20-yard stroll from my poolside seat, my girlfriend absolutely loved it. The hallmark of my experience, however, was the unwavering hospitality displayed by every member of the resort's staff. Their genuine kindness and unwavering helpfulness greatly enhanced my stay.

The accommodations were nothing short of impeccable, with pristine rooms and an exceptionally comfortable bed ensuring a restful night's sleep. Furthermore, the complimentary self-parking option, coupled with its close proximity to the lobby, streamlined the arrival and departure process.

The meticulously manicured grounds of the resort provided a picturesque backdrop for leisurely strolls, offering abundant opportunities to soak in the natural beauty of the surroundings.

In retrospect, I am immensely pleased with my decision to select The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa for my stay. It epitomizes the epitome of hospitality and luxury, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to return, thank you.

I would not recommend this hotel. Valet Service and staff were absolutely incredible and so was the maid service on our floor. Nothing else was even remotely pleasant. Check in started at 4pm, we arrived early to the hotel, checked in at the desk at around 1pm, we were told that the hotel was not able to accommodate an early check in and we were ok with that. We checked with the front desk at 4pm and were told that the rooms were not available. We continued to wait patiently. We did not check in to our rooms until 630pm. We had dinner reservations on the strip at 7pm, held with a $100 deposit and we were not able to make our dinner plans and lost the $100 deposit. We explained all this to the hotel Manager who didn't seem to care. The hotel Front desk staffer that checked us in accused my husband and son of lying and she was rude.

The hotel is beautifully located and has a great pool. The rooms are well-kept and clean. Parking is free. I have visited Westin hotels all over the world, but I have never experienced such poor service anywhere. There is a lack of staff in almost every position. I had to wait 30 minutes in a long line until I was assigned a place at the breakfast buffet. There was a lack of staff to clean and set the tables. The room was not cleaned, even after I had informed housekeeping. This is completely unacceptable for a luxury hotel.

Absolutely will be booking here again!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The complimentary fruit infused water by check-in was delicious.

The rain shower head and adjustable removable sprayer hose were fabulous, along with the complimentary to use full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Silky smooth sheets and plush pillows and lavender roll on improved my sleep tremendously.

The grounds are beautiful, even as the desert landscape is gorgeous! I can't wait for summer to go back and enjoy the pool area with it's 2 separate pools, beach entry , water slide , kiddie play area, bar and food cabana, full size chess game, jacuzzi, ping pong tables, fire pits, free trolley to the shops nearby ... So many nice amenities!

This has easily been the worst experience I’ve had in a hotel. The shelf in our bathroom under the sink wasn’t secured to the wall or floor in anyway so when my wife was helping our son wash his hands it toppled over nearly broke off her entire big toenail and fractured her toe. Security was “nice” enough to send someone down to help me take my wife up to our car. I say “nice” because I later found out that the paperwork he tried to have my wife fill out while I went and grabbed our car was a waiver. Essentially the form stated that they had recommended we get medical treatment but we had turned it down making the hotel no longer liable for any of the impact. My wife was in too much pain to actually fill out the forms so we just took them with us and had them explained later when we returned to the hotel and their front desk employee told us that the form was intended to have us waive their liability. It was bleeding pretty bad so we had to rush her to the ER and ended up spending 5 hours there while they X-rayed her foot and figured out how to best seal up the wound. When we returned from the ER around midnight there was only one employee working the front desk and he was unaware of what had happened earlier. He attempted to reach a manager and none were able to take his call so all he could do was offer to refund us some points which was thoughtful of him but didn’t address our issue with all the medical bills we incurred. It also didn’t address the blood all over the floor in our bathroom from the incident. When I asked if we could have that cleaned up the front desk employee told me there was nothing he could do and it would have to wait until later in the morning or he could give me supplies to clean it up myself. So not only did the hotels low standard of safety cause my wife who is 20 weeks pregnant to break her toe and nearly lose her entire toe nail and spend 5 hours in the ER the hotel couldn’t even be bothered to help us with the mess. I have yet to see if they’ll try and charge us for the mess as if we ruined it on purpose but based on how they’ve handled things so far it wouldn’t surprise me if they did. I’ll be uploading pictures of everything later. I really hope the management takes care of this in the right way. I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt and acknowledge that all of this happened at pretty inconvenient hours 7pm-12am and that’s made their responsiveness less than ideal but we’ll see how everything shakes out as we try to get this resolved.
