I'm a bit surprised places like this still exist. The car park was occupied by scrap abandoned cars, the check in area was very cold and dimly lit. The man at check in was welcoming and handed the keys over and told us where the general direction of the rooms where. On inspection the rooms were as cold as the check in area, the bathroom was not 100% clean and there is no TV in the room. The drinks facility was not complete (cups and a kettle that was it!) for which I eventually managed to get coffee, milk and tea but no spoon. We were assured the rooms would warm up as the heating was on, they never fully got to a comfortable temperature. We then looked towards the restaurant area which appeared to be shut and we were pointed towards Aberfeldy for food. When we returned to the hotel the bar was available but all areas were very dimly lit and cold. I drank my drink then went to bed. The bed was less than comfortable and the room returned to its cold general temperature. The saving grace is we didn't book breakfast and left the place ASAP. I can never recommend this place to anyone, it is not fit for purpose. The owners really need to look at what they offer for the money as it is possible to book in other places for the same amount, I wish we had!
After seeing mixture of reviews i booked anyway. Two kids in tow - a 9 month old and a 5yr old, room was perfectly adequate for what we needed. New bedding, fresh towels, just like a travel lodge just more homey. A nice quirky place. Literally just used the bed and shower as we were out late the day before and early the day after so suited us. £120 reasonable for a family room in the location |
Loved our stay at Weem Inn. Very reasonable price. Had the basics that we needed in the room . Liked how it was quirky and a bit different. Liked how there was no tv in the room as the last thing you should do in this location is be in the room watching tv. downstairs area very interesting and felt at home enjoying a drink downstairs playing the spare guitars. Lovely scenic walk in to aberfeldy via paths alongside the roads. No breakfast but kitchen that can be used for self catering. If your looking for 5 star luxuries or standard travel lodge furnishings this may not be the place for you but if you like interesting, friendly, homely and good location for good value this place is recommended
Popped in for a drink on the way back to our rented cottage. It is a bit like walking into a pre war hunting lodge with historic furniture and fittings everywhere. The bar is very dimly lit and jazz music was playing which created an unique and charming atmosphere. The owner was friendly and interesting and he keeps his beer beautifully. There was one other couple in the bar who were staying the night. This is an unique place which while very niche deserves more custom.
Great hotel, staff very welcoming, we had a double and a family room for one night. the rooms were clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. The breakfast in the restaurant was exceptional with no rush or pressure to finish and leave. Only sorry we didn't have the evening meal the night we arrived.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Spent 3 nights for a photography/hiking trip to Schiehallion and it was perfect for my needs. Rooms are basic but comfortable and the bathroom seemed pretty new. Lovely hillside view out of my window and incredibly friendly staff. Feels like a quirky home-away-from-home. No food available at the hotel but plenty of options close by in Aberfeldy. If you’re an outdoorsy type like me looking for a base to explore this area, I’d recommend it, particularly to hikers/cyclists etc. No TV in the room but I consider that a plus - much nicer to unwind and look out of the window at the beautiful view instead!
Stayed here in a twin room with my friend and two dogs for a wee one night stay. The room was clean and comfortable with a kettle to make drinks and a decent sized ensuite shower room. The owner, John, was very pleasant and helpful when making requests for extra milk sachets when we'd forgotten to buy milk and a pen and paper to help us keep score at scrabble. As neither of us drink we didnt use the bar but, although a little dark, it looked cosy enough. We were shown the wee kitchen to use if we'd wanted and it seemed perfectly fine and serviceable but as we had brought a picnic and snacks with us we didnt need to make use of it. The downstairs communal rooms are a little gloomy and unwelcoming and it would have been nice to have a tv in the room even if only one that played dvd's. There is a tv in one of the downstairs communal areas and some dvds but, as I said, it lacked whatever a room needs to encourage people to use it. Generally I thought this place was well worth the money paid but perhaps a little attention to the 'first impressions' of the car park and the reception area might endear it more to its customers especially on first sight.
Homely, informal hotel with friendly owner and staff (John & Dom). We only stayed one night, but were made thoroughly welcome. No chef at present, but we were permitted to use the kitchen which was a godsend as my partner has all manner of specific food requirements. Highly recommended, would like to return some time and explore the area further. Good base for cycling adventures!
