I had the California Benedict and it was phenomenal. The owner makes the hollandaise sauce from scratch and you can even get it on a waffle. Come visit them for an amazing food experience!
We were the ONLY people in the building and the wait was insanely long. I didn’t like the food, but I’m giving four stars because one of my sons did. To me, my waffle was completely inedible. But when I asked if that was how it was supposed to be made while tapping my knife on the waffle to show it was hard as stone, they stated it was made correctly and they get a 50/50 feedback of some who like it and others who do not. I can’t fault someone for making something their way and then I don’t like it. It was just wasn’t for me. I got the savory waffle, very dense, very very hard. I asked for no tomato, I got tomato. So I couldn’t even taste their Cajun spread because I ended up doing my best to wipe off the tomato guts so I could at least eat the chicken. I would have said something if someone had come to see how we were doing, but the service wasn’t the best. At least it looked pretty.
Feedback from the teens. Teen one: Not worth almost $20 for a single waffle square, three eggs, a strip of bacon and potatoes. You can see in the photo, I’d have to agree. Teen two: waffle with hollandaise was good, would order it again if we were in the area, but not like go out of our way to come here kind of good. Total bill for all this, was over $60, the staff gave a discount for my food even though I was adamant they did not have to, because I didn’t think they should be responsible for me not liking something made correctly to their standards. He gave the discount anyway and it was appreciated.
This was my first time being in here. Wow I have been missing out on some awesomeness. The chef is professionally trained out of San Francisco. The service was absolutely fantastic. (I was there on a Wednesday morning) the place was quiet enough to get some work done but it pleasant enough so that you wanted to stay and order something else to eat. I also tried the churro waffle!!!! Holy mother of sweet baby waffle excitement!! If you love cinnamon and crisp waffles this is the place for you! They have hearty dishes with their scrambles. That’s what I got. I tried an egg scramble with rib eye!! Need I say more??? This place is next level and it’s in a little corner of the plaza so if you are wanting some peace and quiet you can utilize their out door patio!! We will definitely be coming back to try their “adult drinks”
BLT Blood Mary was amazing! I went here with my family for brunch and I had the ribeye scramble (the side of potatoes were crispy…so good!). I also had a side of pork belly and it was perfectly cooked and was delicious. Would definitely come back.
First off, my mother and I would choose The Waffle Experience as our go-to brunch spot for special events like birthdays or mother’s day. For today, it was supposed to be a nice regular brunch day.
We ordered the Chicken and Waffles, American Classic with Turkey Bacon & Wheat bread, and the Churro waffle.
Food came in and we got every dish ordered wrong. Somehow we got a Cajun Chicken, American Classic WITH regular bacon and english muffin, and a Strawberry waffle??? Everything just wrong.
The conversation with our waitress:
Us: “Excuse me, but we had a chicken and waffles instead of whatever this is and we also had a churro waffle?”
Waitress: “Yeah the cajun chicken and the strawberry waffles? Thats what you guys ordered”
We didn’t really liked the attitude that came across. I understand mistakes can happen but what ever happened to the customer is always right? We knew we were right.
I thank the chef or busboy that personally came to give my Churro waffles and took back our wrong orders.
Our waitress even apologized last minute right when we just finished paying. Like cmon, at least acknowledge your mistake and not try to be nice when we are about to tip. This place used to be so good but it seems like the standards have been lowered. The place wasn’t even busy. It took about 45 minutes until our original order came in.
What an amazing find! My wife and I are in Elk Grove for a wedding and my wife loves a good breakfast. I like finding things that are local and not chains. We were both very happy with the choice.
Anne was our server and she was AMAZING. Note that the number of remaining entrees of each type are listed on the chalkboard wall. If the number for pork belly is less than five, get your order in fast! They won't last.
And they have cocktails....
;)
Well, the next day we tried another local haunt, but it was closed. The wife said "Let's go back to the Waffle place!"
Need I say more?
Excellent breakfast fare. It's clear the chef has a distinct vision for the cuisine and it works. My chicken was well seasoned and the herb waffle was a perfectly balanced addition. It could have been cooked a touch more for my taste but I still cleared the plate. My wife had eggs benedict and loved it. You can get pork belly hash as a side upgrade on the savory breakfast items and at $2, or $6 as a standalone side, it's a steal. Jammed with flavor.
Service was good and attentive. Covered outdoor seating in the back which we took advantage of. We'll be back soon for sure!
Went in at 805 am and I was the only customer in. Ordered the Brie burger for dine in and the banana Nutella waffle to go. The burger bun smelled bad and had a funky smell and taste to it and the fries that come with it were mushy. Half way through my meal the waitress, Morgan, dropped off the check at the table which I thought was rude. Up until the last 5 minutes I was there there was not ONE customer which to me isn’t a very good sign of a good restaurant. I will not ever go back to the waffle experience based on my experience there. Please make improvements on your staff and food quality during the weekdays.
