The tomato alfredo fettuccine was incredible, as well as the trifecta. I didnt care much for the cucumber cooler cocktail but the food and service were great and we would love to come back!
My only reason for two stars, nickel and diming with $3 charge for salad which used to come with meal, and 75 cents for another bread basket. No wonder the place isn’t packed like it used to be…
This place now is lame. A bunch of overzealous and clueless yuppies must have taken over the helm and created an environment of overpriced food with no integrity. This place was a staple for years. They dont want the locals here evidently and that is what happens when you let yuppies and out of town delusional clowns with no clue take over an establishment. No bread to table for free. A la carte for average food sides and the entrees are way over priced. Good job on screwing up a family place that has been a staple for decades catering to an atmosphere of nothingness, no personality and a concentration on squeezing a dollar out of people in many ways. The new owners have no clue. You have alienated a customer base and overrall pleasant atmosphere to cater to an upscale standard when this place was never about that. This new philosophy is what is wrong with world today. Greed. You embrace the "ethos" pay more for less" when The Villa was the opposite forever before this recent transition.
Imagine taking this out of the oven and thinking "yep that's what a perfectly cooked pizza looks like"
I have no idea why there is so many good reviews for this place. Either they are paid reviews or people in wayland have no idea what Italian food is.
By far one of the worst experiences I've had in the area. I even made a comment to our waitress who basically shrugged off what I was saying as if nothing was wrong. I asked if I received a vegetarian lasagna as I basically had no meat and the "ricotta" cheese was more like mayo and sour cream.
"Big portions"? I had a dish of all sauce. I cut into it and didn't touch anything. The second slice was the tiny square of 3 noodles I received with fake cheese and no meat. Before I ordered I asked if pasta came with the dinner dishes ans told yes. After I received my dish I asked if there was pasta. She said not for this dish.
If you like dark, zero flavor, rustic sauce with fake cheese you'll love this place. "North end" made is not even close. Sorry.
Regardless. This place is not worth the 20$ plates. Especially if the waitress never came around to ask if everything is okay or if we wanted second drinks.
Avoid this place. Save your money.
The lasagna is still as yummy as ever! My childhood home is located in the neighborhood and The Villa was the place of many family dinners. The menu has evolved and includes fried clams and oysters. The oysters tasted fresh and delicious. Takeout appears to be a popular option but dine-in has comfy booth seating. Great waitstaff. Chicken parmigiana is big enough for two. Love the spumoni with claret sauce.
We got a number of different orders to go. I have to say I was disappointed in some recent changes that were made. First, we used to get salads with all of the entrées. We didn’t receive any salads and were told that they don’t do that anymore with the orders. In addition, the restaurant charged $2.00 for “packaging fee”. Sorry but this comes across as very cheap. This is also knew. They have cut back on the portions, and we probably will not be back. For the same price, we will end up at Bella Costa. We should not have been charged a packaging fee for an order to go!
I just picked up an order to go. A $2.00 packaging fee for a takeout order, are you kidding me ?? Prices are high enough without charging you extra to take dinner home.
Prices have gone way up. At least 26% for entrees in the last year. Even the sandwiches have gone up. It used to be a friendly, neighborhood, reasonably priced place but now you must think twice before going.
