Lovely small pub on the market place. Cosy locals vibe. Had a choice of Draught Bass or Robinsons Trooper. Went for the Bass. Once the biggest seller in the UK but now a brand sold on. The red triangle is a pub quiz regular, as the oldest registered trade mark. Bar skittles, a hidden back lounge and proper old times gents out back.
Brilliant pub, great atmosphere while watching the rugby. Plus, lady serving us topped up our Bass after it had settled after pouring.
Played a gif there yesterday, the staff were great.
Had very good live music rockabilly trio ..very talented.
I visit the pub once a month when attending a soul event nearby.
Maggie the licensee is very welcoming and has a great sense of humour which is certainly needed when bantering with my friends and many local people that I have come to know. A good proper pub
