Detergent is the prominent, pungent smell as you enter this establishment... loved the two dogs that were very happily making themselves exceptionally comfortable in the bar, so that counts for something, I guess, but sadly not enough to draw me back to this place... no, not my kind of drinking hole so won't be returning any time soon... I must confess though, this was my first visit and I'm sure people that frequent this pub will probably disagree with my comments. So be it.
Quiet town location great pit stop for a night out at a disco or karaoke or just a game of pool. Under new management just settling in and they are doing a fantastic job! We will certainly be visiting more often now they have taken over.
Where can you start with a place that charges £35 a night for B&B. My expectations were not high, and we left feeling that we probably have found the best value B&B in the country. |We were on our way to a car event and took a classic Rolls-Royce and needed somewhere with a good car park. It has a superb one at the rear. We were met and had our bags taken. The rooms were is excellent decor, bed linen immaculate and even a wet-room walk in shower in the en-suite. They pointed us to an indian (wil revire later) and after a beer at the bar we headed out. Had a last drink before retiring and was up with the larks. Locals and visitors mingle at the bar in the evenings and there is a quiet lounge too. Everyone simply wants you to have a good time.||I had seen reviews of the breakfast and really words do not do it justice. Free-range eggs (I must presume as the yolks were orange), thick bacon, sausages - the works . Also orange juice and coffee on tap - oh, and cereal if you can manage it. Again all served on immaculate crockery. ||The peolpe were lovely and the food was astonishing. Yes £35.
I'm in a single room but it is large with a nice shower. There is a nice bar. Breakfast was massive. I had to eat it as it might have seemed rude but now I wish I hadn't. The town of malton has lots of pubs and looks like a great venue for a weekend away.|

Host very friendly rooms clean with large ensuite bathroom. Lounge bar lovely traditional beers and lagers. Breakfast cooked while you wait lovely choice of cereals fruit juice toast tea and coffee. Highly recommended.
What a fantastic little pub! 6 of us booked in her for a night as going to a party at another venue not far away. We arrived to a lovely welcome by the oeners and were immediately shown our rooms and where things were and then told about breakfast times ect. Great 1st impressions and the rooms were amazimg and clean.
Cheap prices and their Fosters was the best!!!
Breakfast was served and all lovely hot and fresh! We will defo be visiting again!
Walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way from Filey to Hessle. Stayed here first night. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Room clean and in good order. Only downside was that shower was a bit underpowered. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
