Fri 29th Dec called in on my way home, great fish supper!
Chips were great, fish was very tasty and the batter was crisp, honestly I cannae fault it, good price too. Will definitely be back next time I’m passing Lockerbie.
This is my local chippy. Usually ok but tonight I got 2 fish suppers at £16.40 and so disappointed. One of the fish was so small and more batter than fish. My fish was better but still on the small side. The chips were like re-heated chips and not nice. We both left over half of then as they were so chewy and small. For the price I would expect first class chips and better fish. My option is go to the Starfish cafe as better all round.
I've no idea how this place has so many stars! The Fish & Chips here are the worst I've ever had (and I couldn't stomach eating more than a quarter of mine!) The fish was very small, in places it was browner than the batter. I've no idea what they cook with but the fish we had smelled odd. I'm not even sure what it was but it didn't look like Cod or Haddock.
The management/staff need to take a trip to Moore's in Castle Douglas ; to find out what Fish & Chips should smell, taste and look like!!
In summary; expensive small portion of 'fish', not even sure what fish it was, chips and batter were undercooked. Truly awful waste of money. Dog ate most of the 'fish'. Should've taken a picture of the 'fish'. I can only imagine this place stays open as it must have a monopoly on Fish n Chips in the town.
Great place located in the centre of Lockerbie serving the usual food found in fish and chip outlets. Friendly service, waiting time good considering how busy it was. Card payments accepted too. All in all very good.
As I walked in I was told aggressively that the food in the hot cabinet was all they had as they were closing in 10 minutes, 15 minutes earlier than Google advised me. The girl that served me was borderline rude and did not pay any attention to my request for plenty of salt & vinegar, I could taste neither, although the food was very nice, in 18 months of working away from home this is the first meal that I have finished, and still felt hungry m. Not good value for money & staff seemingly need to go on a customer care course or two. I will not be back as there are far superior takeaway establishments in Lockerbie.
My partner had a fish supper with half portion of chips. Said it was lovely.
Great supper from the tower fish bar. Food was exactly as you'd expect it to taste from a chippie. Price was sound.
Excellent quality fish and chips. Very good value for money too and great service. Would come again.
