We’ve been for afternoon tea and lunch here several times now and it never disappoints. The Terrace has a beautiful modern setting (indoors and out) which is a real counterpoint to the very trad setting of the hotel.
They cater for vegetarians and various dietary intolerances. One of our party this week is gluten intolerant and everything on the menu was available to her. She said the bread in her sandwich was fantastic.
The burger never disappoints! Like the new small plates options too.
We had a great time. Wine list short but good quality and variety. The highlight of the evening was that I was spending evening with my hot girlfriend.
Food was of high quality and freshly prepared. Kitchen is open to the restaurant abd clean. Chefs looked tidy and were all working well together.
We went for a light lunch, restaurant was about half full. It took an hour between arrival and being served our food . We had our drinks served only after chasing the waiter.
The food was mostly disappointing,
not worth the wait nor the expense.
The burger was indifferent, sandwiches were served cold, when we expected them to be warm.
We will not be going again.
Delicious food, dog friendly in bar area too.
This place does excellent food and has great staff. They don't allow dogs in the restaurant itself but they are welcome on the terrace or in the bar with the restaurant menu. Really enjoyed it here.
Youre missing a treat if you ain't been to the Terrace at Swinton Park Estate. The menu is not large but the food is very tasty. In fact the hotel, spa etc is very special makes a good day out. Call in at Masham beforehand for a coffee, have a walk round the church, visit the gallery behind the coffee shop for superb animal prints.
The food is not very good here, nor are the wait staff. Our fish cakes were unbelievably salty, so much so we barely made it half way through them and downed all of the table water. When we raised it with the waiter they were ambivalent to our feedback; a few moments later and we saw the chef shaking his head and bickering about our comments. Nice setting but I’d stick to hot drinks / snacks and avoid a main course here.
Excellent food but we waited a long time to be seated
