Good price. Comfortable bed and good temperature in the room despite the uncomfortable heat outside. ||Unfortunately the room was let down by the low standards of cleanliness. There was somebody’s false nail on the carpet. There was an empty shampoo bottle on the floor in the shower, indicating the shower hadn’t been cleaned. The inevitable Gideon’s bible in the drawer has got wet at some point and is mouldy. ||You don’t exactly expect soundproofing in any hotel accommodation but we could hear every word that the couple next door spoke so don’t expect to be able to hold a private conversation here. And the TV didn’t work so no hope of drowning out your conversation with that. ||In summary, the bed was clean and comfortable and it served its purpose for a night’s sleep. Don’t expect much more than that.
Not worth £80 for 1 night, the room was tiny and freezing cold. The heating was set at zero when we got there, it would of been nice to have been turned on a couple of hours before we was due to arrive. The bedding felt damp it was that cold. ||The walls are so thin you could here the conversations had in the room next door and here them using the toilet!||The room was clean but we did find it strange that the carpets had been fitted around the bedside tables leaving them stood on the concrete floor.||To top it off at 2am in the morning someone kept trying our door to get in!||No faults with the pub food though although a bit more expensive the carvery was the best we've had
Although my price was with a discount it was not even worth that. Room was absolutely filthy, beard hair all over the floor in the bathroom, hairs in the sink bed had brown stains in, towels were covered in stains. The shower leaked everywhere, rubbish down the side of the bedside tables, dirty mark on walls, skirting boards that looked like they’ve never been dusted In their life, walls are paperthin and can hear everything my neighbours are saying on the phone. Cobwebs from the wall to the bed frame. Just not practical or clean especially with my 2 year old child during a pandemic.||||Such a shame because the staff were lovely upon arrival and In the bar, the outdoor seating area is beautiful and there’s a kids park, but the place is clearly not what it seems.
On arrival, three used mugs were sitting on our room's window sill. We had to step over a workman's tools in the lobby outside our room. We then had to step round a pile of dirty laundry. No staff were present. The carpet in our room had not been hoovered recently and had "bits" across the room. We actually had to clean the bedside tables, bed head and other surfaces with wet wipes because they were so dusty and dirty. The wipes were black with dust and dirt. The previous guest had left shampoo and used toiletries in the bathroom which had not been cleared away. We reported these things at the time, but did not receive an apology or explanation. Particularly worrying during the Covid Pandemic. The toilet seat was not secure. The shower was a period piece, would benefit from an upgrade and unless you are 6 foot 2 you will not be able to adjust the shower head. The cold tap was broken. The bathroom door did not shut. The bathroom door handle came off. At this point, we wondered if we were in a TV sketch. |However, the room was a good size, well heated and had hot water. The coffee was plentiful but we did fight over the tea bag.
We stayed here for one night in January 2022. We arrived around 6:30pm and when we got to our room the heating hadn’t been switched on & it was absolutely freezing cold!!!|We went to a nearby pub/restaurant for food as The Tap House had stopped serving at 6pm (it was a Sunday evening, we were aware of this, that was fine.) |When we returned to our room, it was still cold, even though we’d turned the heating up as high as it would go. It was cold ALL night. There was also a dog in the vicinity - not necessarily on site, but certainly nearby - which took to howling in the middle of the night. We barely slept all night.|Upon reading the guest information the following morning we saw that additional blankets are available “on request”. In a room as cold as that one, the blankets need to be stored in the room, not on request when there aren’t staff readily available on site.
More than comfortable in our room 1b. |It’s was clean, fresh and adequately furnished. Best nights sleep I’ve ever had in a b&b ever. Staff where lovely too. |Spent the evening in the Tap house pub. |Food was excellent and again staff very pleasant. |As a group of 4 we’d Definitely stay again next year.
We stayed at the motel. Really friendly staff, ample parking, and of course right next to a pub. Our room bookings were mixed up from a double to twin rooms but the staff was so apologetic and threw in a few drinks to apologize. The rooms are large, beds are clean, and the shower pressure is great. Wonderful time.
The room was a decent size with a relatively comfortable bed. Unfortunately the thin walls meant that when the neighbouring rooms guests returned, all we could hear was the banging of their doors, their chatter and their tv. The lack of warm water in the shower let this place down and meant that we felt the standard did not meet the price being charged.
